I've got about 55,000 miles on my rallispec block. leak down is still great, noise is low, oil consumption is less than my factory block.

Metric Motors did a great job rebuilding my moms heads. I'd highly recomend them.

I bought a Rallispec for my STI as it is mostly a track car now. They are a bit more expensive but they are in a few very reliable local cars (ie, zane's GC, brody's daily).

Glad I saw this thread, looking to rebuild my motor and I'm ready to start browsing around and get some prices so I know what I'm looking at, and where I'm going to get the best motor for my buck!

Went to Dave at Pro Machine for all my machine work, otherwise self assembled.

You really can't beat Dave's prices either. I think all in I'm about $275 for a hot tank, bore and hone to 100mm, polishing of the crank.

Probably do head games for the heads since I'm not in Utah anymore but it doesn't sound like you're looking for head work.

I'd be down to help as well, and learn a little bit. It's been a while since I've pulled a motor apart.

Stay away from Rallispec like the plague. Nothing will be according to their build sheet - it is complete BS. Spend the extra money and get it done correctly and honestly!! My recommendation is MPS, 3MI Racing, or P&L.

Lol weird, I can name almost a dozen people locally with this block that have had ZERO issues. Including myself. 55k miles on mine.

But thats for your opinion. Got any proof for your comment?

Lucky you and the others! It is very unfortunate that I am in this predicament.

Yes - I have hard proof and pictures. I am not making this up. Stay tuned for a separate thread that will dive into the details and evidence.

Hey man - this is just a heads-up. I tried rectifying the issue with them directly and they hung-up on me. It is your choice on who you align yourself with. I would hate to see this happen to any one else in this community. The proof is coming, but it will not be in this thread. I am going to start a new thread for the NA community, and not just RMIC. Please be patient since I am in the process of compiling the data. I just got an update for some additional clearances and it is not as stated in the build sheet that they provided. So far, all the clearances and weights are off significantly.

Mine did since I requested it. There was no way I was going to commit to a short block with out it - just keeping people honest in many ways as well. It is a common practice on the domestic side. My 1200 WHP Mustang has one as does my stroked 7.0L 426 hemi (800 WHP). This is obviously not my first rodeo and I absolutely keep a record of everything performed on these vehicle. I am former BMW master mechanic and have been a gear head since the late 80's. This is my 6th personal build over the years - it is habitual for me to get these details. If it was not for the Manley crankshaft muck-up, I would have never known that these tolerances were way off.

no worries at all amigo! I will certainly send you the link! So far, all the actual static measurements are not as stated in the build sheet. The rotating assembly is in the process of material removal on both the piston/rod combination (static balance) and dynamically balancing the crank/pressure plate/Ross-MJ damper to see how bad it is. The gun drilling is way off to the naked eye - I have pictures. How do you let that slide by. This whole mess is costing me more than if I had spent the extra $500 up front. My advice is pay the extra $500-$700 for a short block and get it blueprinted. Lessoned learned on my end

15k miles on mine and I have had zero issues. Actually burns less oil than the stock unit. Everyone that I know that has one seems to be fairing quite well too.

I spent around 1k to have all my stuff assembled, blueprinted out and everything at metric (took them 1.5 weeks, quite quick) which included head assembly with a warranty. When it comes down to measuring, assembly/re-assembly and weighing parts it really isn't an overly complicated process. Personally from the blocks i've seen from rallyspec they have all performed quite well (5-6). One is at 60k miles at over 400whp. But if they didn't handle their return's and or other issues well that does unfortunately tell you a lot about a business. Please be sure to link your thread when it's done as saving people from a mistake is never a bad thing.
