Default HID question

Has anyone ordered a kit from DDM tuning? I have read some Positive reviews. I'm wondering if anyone has tried them for 2012-2014 2.0i's. Also, I did search but couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Ive read a lot of good stuff about DDM but havent ordered from them myself. The Morimotos from The Retrofit Source may not be cheap but theyre spot on.

No knowledge of that brand. I will be going with the retro fit source as well. Morimoto kit with upgraded bulbs $170. My First kit was
hid extreme brand? A random kit I had installed at a generic tint n audio place 10 miles from the dealer for $150, they actually looked real nice and almost stock considering they were just an un-researched impulse buy.
HIDs in halogen housings are generally frowned upon due to the halogen housings being designed for halogen light pattern and output but I feel these headlight housings with quality bulbs can put out a clean non blinding light with a crisp cutoff as my previous kit provided. Just a tip keep the color range between 4300-5k no higher than 6k. 4300-5k giving you the most lumens and OEM quality look.

So 6k is slightly blue? Sounds like I might give DDM a shot. I would take out the DRL fuse so they won't be running every time I drive.

I have LEDs for my DRLs and before I painted the housing, during my retrofit, they were OBNOXIOUS. Only had it that way for about a week though. Just be careful, it may look good on your end but it may piss everybody off on the road. Unless you don't care about those people.

Yeah ideally 6k should have a light to moderate blue hue, the amount
varies between different brands.
My prev kit was 6k, a subtle blue hue similar to the stick lexus Hids , it looked really nice and gave the car a premium look. I may go 5k next kit to be safe because I dislike super blue for looks and the fact you're actually going backwards in useable light.
Pardon the formatting , app is bugging out on me.

Just curious what kind of leds on the DRL?. I've seen $150-$200 kits where you supposedly retain high beam function, Vled and another site that escapes me atm.

From VLED. I don't think they make this EXACT kit anymore:

9005 HB3 5K CXA 2000LM LED HEADLIGHT FOG LIGHT DRL | 1 PAIR

Was $128 shipped. I don't think it kept the highbeam function but Ive since retrofitted and those are low/high beam.

Thank you! Happy with them? Money well spent? They probably came out with an updated model, they're always refreshing things.

With the black housing I can imagine the stock bulbs wouldn't produce nearly enough light. The LEDs are great.

Yes on both accounts.

Disconnect a wire at the DLR resistors = no power through that route = no DRL. High beam uses a different wire path.

HIDs either won't turn on or will be damaged by the low voltage supplied by the DRL resistor.
