Default Will Borla ss headers fit under skid plate.

just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the borla header system would fit under primitives 3/16th skid plate. I have wondered this for a while now. and is there any low end torque loss with these. I am not looking for top end.
Thanks
Aaron

Gooseman was making skidplates a while back and they cleared my Borla's, but I did have to shim out the bottom end of the plate to get enough clearance. As far a low end torque I did not feel any loss. The Borla's are pretty much just noise makers unless you are planning on a high flow cat along with the headers.

EDIT: Uhhh......fine....(SubiGal hates my skidplates!! )

PM me for details on where to get skidplates. Wait a sec....i'm not even the one selling them, I just make them, and a certain PAYING vendor sells them. Am I not allowed to point him in the direction of said vendor? I dont work this vendor....

doubt you'll find one "rally ready " that will fit borla headers...

best off custom fabbing something if that's what your after.

if youre looking for a custom fabricated plate, I can do that too. I've made a HUGE 3' x 4' 1/4" thick plate for a member in Ottawa. He had the Borlas It was a little $$$ tho, but it was REALLY heavy duty overkill

Aaron,
If you plan on rallying the car it is probably best just to stick with the stock headers. For one they would probably be more durable than Borla's headers against rocks and other flying debris that might come in contact with them. Primitives skid plate does a good job of covering the exhaust manifolds but doesn't really protect the Y-pipe. I should know, my Y-pipe has quite a few bumps from rocks in it.
If you do go with the Borla it would probably be best to get a custom made skid plate that would protect it better
BTW, are you ever going to rally the car???

hahaha. yea well thats a hoot. I had my chance to get my hands on headers very cheap. thought i would inquire. not to worried about things being beat up.

The hahaha was about the rallying. my projected debut was supposed to be wild west but what went wrong has gone wrong. I am horrible dissapointed i cant compete in a rally that is a few miles away from my house. very sad. Its not making me feel well. but besides that point. i am in the process of making my portfoilio for sponsors; And in a few weeks the car is going to be stored in my garage collecting dust until march or april of 2003. doo wop or the OT will positively be my starting date. I am pushing myself to the limits by working 12 1/2 hours of overtime each week to see that this project gets finished. But my advise to all is not to build your own open class rally car unless your wealthy. Buy a turnkey one.
