I was finally able to check my codes...

"EGR flow 400" and "O2 one bank one"

I'm pretty sure its been throwing the O2 code anytime I have the other exhaust on, which has never had any negative effect on mpg, only improved it.

Now, there two things it could be, which have changed since the engine swap. Like all my vehicles in the past, the crank case ventilations are no longer routed back to the intake. Previously these both ran into a tube at the resr of the motor with a sensor... Might this be the problem??
The other difference is the crankcase ventilation tube which runs from the back of the drivers side head up to the intake manifold is capped off. The new motor had a plug in the head and i simply capped it off at the intake manifold... Might this be the problem?? These are the only two differences currently.

Please do excuse the newbish questions, forced induction systems are my forte and im definitely not up speed with the latest in vehicle diagnostics and crap.

Thanks all for the help.

The way you ran the vacuum vent lines is probably throwing off the egr. The o2 should not be on with either exhaust. When you switch the only thing that should change is it detecting something for no cat or if you have a highflow cat that will set it off. Get your front (upstream) o2 replaced and i can almost guarantee a major improvement in gas mileage.

Here is a good picture of what's currently plugged off on my motor... this used to have a hard line going from the EGR port up to the manifold.

http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...79bdea19fa&

My new motor had this EGR port plugged off. If this is taking exhaust gasses from the exhaust port, couldn't I just weld a hose bung onto my exhaust manifold just outside the block and acheive the same results? The only difference being the exhaust gasses are now being collected a few inches further downstream.
This would seem much more feasible than drilling and tapping the plug as shown in the link above.

I work from home mostly except for a lot of weekends between May and October. The STI is known to sit in the garage for days at a time. I live on Linwood off of Wisconsin St.

Thanks for the clarification. I have always referred to Buffalo Wild Wings as BW3 (Buffalo Wild Wings & Wick from the early days) so that explains why I was confused...as usual. Anyway, if we get a group together, let me know as I would love to join. Thx!

The weekend is coming and I was thinking of going for a drive at some point. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good road in NEW? I like Hwy 55 from Keshena to Hwy W cuz it is so curvy with good elevation changes, but I have driven it so much that I could use a change of pace. Any ideas?
