Default Hey I just want to confirm...

...the early EJ20H was fully HLA, right?

Because I have a 20H with shim over bucket heads in my garage right now, and it has got me and a lot of other people confused.

Pics coming shortly.

the 20H i have is HLA. maybe you have a EJ20R? maybe an EJ208? check to see if its a phase one or phase two block.

im in no way an expert on twin turbo blocks, just throwing out some ideas.

1993-1996 EJ20H MT and AT with HLA and 250 PS
1996-1998 EJ20H AT (but also a few MT) with shim over bucket and 260 PS
1996-1998 EJ20R MT only with shim over bucket and 280 PS

The first one has 4 CAM 16 VALVE with ribs on the valve covers, the last two have smooth valve covers.

Forget the pics. It's hydraulic, fully my mistake. I don't have any lighting in the garage so I was working with pretty much no proper light at all. I realised my mistake when I went back out in the morning with sunlight through the garage door.
