Talking local trade...my sparcos for your WRX seats?

just wondering if anyone in the orlando/central FL area would be interested in trading their WRX front seats plus cash or some kind of nifty GC8 parts for my sparco sprints/rallispec brackets/sliders/lumbar cushions/2" harnesses...

i love them to death and they're SUPER comfy, but since i'm shorter than the average bear and now sitting so close to the floor, i'm at about eye level with the steering wheel... which is fine, except during mundane activities like parking, etc.

so i'm not 100% sure i want to do this, but i figured i throw the idea out there and see if someone's interested. so if you are, post or email me an offer...

What seats are they? Will the fit oversized (hey be nice. lol...) people? Matt and I are looking for some FIA approved 1 piece seats for the rally project.

here's a pic:

it's the pretty blue one in the middle ...they are in good shape, with only one tiny tear about the size of a dime on the back of the passenger seat from the rail from the other seat poking it when they were brought home. i will try and post pics of the ACTUAL seats with everything else in the car as soon as i can get ahold of a digital camera.

i don't know about size limit on these, but i let my dad take it for a spin a few weeks later, and he's about 170 and noted they were a bit snug at that point. so if you're much over 180, i would say it's going to be a tight fit. as i recall, sparco recommends the evo 2's for people over 190 lbs, so i think my guesstimate is in the right neighborhood.

hmmm...as for selling them outright...all this stuff runs about a grand new by the time you add it all up (the seats are the cheap part, lol), so i think $500 is fair. if you've got WRX seats to trade, how about the seats plus $150? or if someone has the plain black euro sport seats, i'll trade 'em outright.

yes, these are FIA approved. if someone is really interested, let me know, and i'll yank em out of the car and shampoo them so they're all nice and sparkly clean again...but only if you're serious, because the brackets are a major PAIN to wrestle into place -- they fit in there very tightly, and don't budge. took about 2 hours with another person helping to wrangle them in there.

Sold...for a race car

Default

Sold!

As long as they are a direct swap, so I have something to sit in while I drive home.

I'm in Pompano (North of Ft. Lauderdale)

Let me know when (and where) is best for you, and I'll drive up (with my tool box) for the swap and $150 cash. I'm jobless right now so ANY time is good for me.

I don't smoke; my car has never been smoked in, and my seats are prefect.

Thanks,
Tim

Eh, not your fault I'm not observant. If anything fails to go through, PM me. If nothing else, my passenger seat has pretty much never been used

oh yeah, does anyone know if there are any special 'proceedures' in removing the WRX seats since they do have the airbags in them? or can i just unbolt them, and disconnect whatever plugs may be under the seat?

i don't want there to be an airbag "incident" in my driveway...

TBreu -- thanks for pre-emptively emailing Pochebum

Dave (S-K) -- you've got dibs next if anyone else backs out.

I know what you mean S-K...I just spent a little over 300 on more art supplies and I started two weeks ago. The estimate between 3-8k in art supplies over the next three years. I have 25 hours of class time every week, 1-2 hours of homework for every hour of studio time. This gives me very little time to work and if I dont' work I can't pay for supplies. I don't even know why I have this car cause I have no time to drive it. Oh well, when I do it will be super comfy now. LoL. I'll make sure to send you an email if something comes up though and I can't get them.

I just hope I won't become a starving artist. Does anybody have the skill to weld the stock seatbelts on so I don't have to use the harnesses? If you do it for me I'll give the harnesses to you for free

Well that offer stands unless I go do it professionally and then they'll be up for sale but I don't want harnesses so the sooner the better. This is a good deal people...you do 20 mins of welding and you get two free harnesses. I need my back seats! lol

Racecarriot...i can pick up any day this weekend; tomorrow through monday so whenever it's most convienent to you

any day works for me too as long as it's not late sunday afternoon, so just let me know. my friend might be helping me put in new rear brakes and control arms tomorrow, so if you want to do it tomorrow, we can probably just take everything down to the shop and do it there.

actually, i just thought of a solution to your seatbelt dilemma too, since i'm sitting here at work spacing out...on the stock seats, there are 5 bolts. the sparcos bolt in using the 4 corner bolts, and the 5th is the hole on the tranny hump that is there for attatching the inner lap point of the harness to...instead of bolting the harness there, we could bolt the female end of the seatbelt there if there's enough clearance. it would be a bit of a reach to put on the seatbelt, but it would get the job done, and be safer than a weld, IMO. let's try that, and if it works, i'll hang on to 'em, and that'll obviously make things a tad cheaper for ya.
