I wanted to go to the import shootuot this year but Dave is holding it the same weekend as the first CSCS event(this weekend)

I cant promise anything for the DSM shootout though not alot of subaru fans there but it would be nice to represent, I need to go back to the Mid west shootout and defend my title there and get back to Englishtown this fall as I missed last years event.

I can only do so much LOL

Had a great day at the track today. With the threat of rain all day (70%) the number of cars in my class was low. 6 cars total in Super Street Power adder.

The day started off in the tech lane with a big suprize, they changed the rules of the class. It is now a index of 10.00 et (no longer fastest car wins) which means if you run faster then 10 seconds your out. Im blown away, im tuned at 30psi and the car is ready to crush my old best time of 9.55 today as the new KW drag coilovers have really made the launch and my 1 2 shift real smooth in testing at wastegate boost pressure back last week when we went to try it.

I asked Mike his opinion and he told me to just disconnect the boost controller and run the car on wastegate pressure as thats what we ran last week and the car ran a 10.07 that way.

So we are running only 1/8 mile today due to the poor track condition because of the rain earlier. A 10.00 index in the 1/8 mile translates to a 6.35 et index.

My qualifying run I did a 6.51 at 107mph which was good for #1 qualifier for the event.

My first round was against # 6 qualifier. I ran a 6.53 letting off at the end due to being way out in front and didnt see the reason to stay in it incase I broke out. My mph was 97mph.

Second round I got a bye and just rolled the beams to save the car.

In the other semi finals the faster Honda broke and the win went to a slower talon.

Final round against the Talon that ran a 7.13 in the semi's I knew I had him covered as long as I stayed clean.

We are in the staging lanes ready to go and it starts raining and the track calls the event off and says we can run our finals at the next event in 3 weeks.

Bummer, I hate waiting LOL

At wastegate boost the car ran flawelessly, it sucks not being able to use it to its potential but I'm very happy with the cars consistency and at 21psi boost. It should run forever at that boost level

Great job driving today. Hopefully they let you finish this at the next event so you get another win.

Shouldn't your car be capable of running 8s with that weight and WHP?

Your on crack, I would need to be in the high 700's whp low 800's for that to happen.

I wish i could get my car down to the 2,200 lbs range like the british guys do. But for this year I just want to win another championship in this event then maybe next year change the car more.

Maybe i am lol

A 2650lbs car with 660whp dynojet should go 150-152, correct?

You dyno 660whp on a mustang dyno, if reads low like other mustang dynos you should make around 745whp...

It will be fast no matter what . How much mph is needed for 8s?

well Georgie performance went 9.2 at 153mph

P and L went 8.99 at 160mph

I think the slowest you could go is around 155mph to break into and 8 second mark.

My car isnt very aerodynamic and it isnt as light as it could be. I need another sponsor for carbon fibre doors and lexan to replace all the factory glass LOL.

Realisticly I think a 9.3 @ 148/149 is very possible the way the car sits but I wont be trying untill after the next CSCS event on June 24. The car will be sitting untill then and the boost will stay at 21psi to meet the 10.00 index for the class as I want to win and that comes before any record breaking attemps.

Lots of guys seem to try and run a single quick pass and then their car breaks or they park it. Jason's not like that. He's in it to race and win. He missed an event last year and still tied for 1st place for the season so his car is plenty quick. This year they suddenly announced that instead of it being normal racing, it's bracket with 10.0 break out and he can do that on wastegate pressure (20 ish psi) so spending money to go faster isn't a priority for him and I'm not pushing him to go faster.

So the first event of 2012 was June 3, we ran only 1/8 mile due to the wet track from the rain the day before. Made it to the finals and then it started to rain just before we staged so the event was cancelled and we would run the race at the begining of the next event which was today.

The final was run in the 1/8 mile even though it was dry so we could finish the event the way it was run.

remember it is A 6.35 index in the eighth.

I beat the Talon for the win. a sloppy 6.85 to his 7.29 seems that neither one of us wanted to win, but a win is a win.

now we start running todays event after our final.

Long story short I made it to the final against a very well prepared honda and He took the win with a 10.1 to my 2nd gear shift to 5th gear mistake 10.50 oh well 2nd would have to be good enough, cant get too greedy.

I felt rather good about how the car was running today so I plugged the boost controller back in with boost set at the 26 to 27 psi range and made a past for fun after the racing ended and the car put down a 9.78 at 146mph (my best mph ever)

With Mike from innovative there at the event we cranked the boost up some more and I brought my M/T slicks with us and thought Id give them a try and go for some serious times.

Well the car launched like a bouncing bag, even with the kw coilovers the rear wheels practically lifted off the ground with 4 or 5 big bounces at the launch. Obviously the coilovers are set well for the hoosiers but will need more dampening with the slicks.

This was the first time I tried the M/T slicks on the car ever.

at the 1/8 mile mark the tires grew so much they started to rub on the fenders on all 4 corners and basically burned a serious groove in all of them where 2 of them are garbage and the other 2 can still be used. The car filled up with smoke but still ran a 10.26 at 137.20

the slicks are crazy sticky but we need to trim out the wheel wells some more and do some coilover adjustments before we get the car dialed in on them.

So a 1st and a 2nd place taoday and we learned that slicks grow alot more then the qtp hoosiers do, anyway heres the slip from the run at 26/27 psi and still running the hoosiers.

The 60 foot was crap due to spinning all the way through first gear on that pass.

My son and Mike have some videos of both runs that they'll post later.

Yup. We don't need to run tons of boost to make big power with this setup. It's very efficient. That said, I tuned it up to 30 psi on the dyno so I know what's left in it when the boost goes up at the track.
