Default Sti swap into 2000 outback

Decided after much debating to sti swap my 2000 outback. I plan on picking up a wrecked sti and swapping engine, Trans, diff, and whatever suspension parts are still good and then just filling in the holes.

Figured I'd post a thread just to learn as much as I could first.

So is there anything special I need to know before starting this project. Will I have any problems swapping between different generations? Are there any specific parts that won't swap? Any unique modification I need to or should make?

The swap is pretty straight forward. If it doesnt bolt up there is an adaptor. Wiring isnt fun, contact Iwire to merge your harness.

2007 sti swapped wagon, Iwire harness.

Just trying to be as genuinely helpful as possible, I think you are over your head. Your research skills are lacking (with regard to the other thread you posted in), which is something that needs to be very developed to do an entire engine/drivetrain swap. Honestly, I could research for about 2-3 weeks and still not be completely sure if swapping is the best choice. For you, I would only imagine it will take much, much longer. Deciding to swap is not just something you stumble upon in the middle of drinking tea and decide you will go after it and dive in head first. I think you need to do a TON more research before you even consider debating swapping an STi engine/drivetrain in. Again, this is me just trying to be as helpful as possible because it seems you are in getting yourself into something that you can not handle. If there is something wrong with your outback's engine right now, I would suggest just swapping it with a used engine and just keeping the car reliable. After you have developed some experience working on the car and are more familiar with Subarus and their engines, then you can start to debate whether it is a good idea or not to swap an STi engine/drivetrain in.

I get how things may have came off that way. You have to reply to three threads before posting and I'll admit I was an ass hole and didn't really read them through, just got excited and wanted to start to form a plan. I've actually been doing a bunch of research and have decent amount of experience working on subarus and cars in general, I work in a shop and have on the side rebuilt three subaru motors and a bunch of other stuff. This project would probably not start for another year or so just save up more money and to do massive amounts of more research. I just wanted to ask the people who may have done swaps like this before for any tips they might have.

I am in the middle of doing an STi swap into an 00 Legacy L right now.
I have mounted the engine and trans in the car for test fitment and to mock up P/S and A/C.
Engine is apart getting resealed and ARP studs.
Engine will go back in when back together, and the wiring will start on wiring.

hope to have it together and running before Jan.

This is not my first swap I have done 6 or 8 now. but so far its not much different than doing it on any other Subaru.

If you have any specific question let me know ill help with what i can.
