![]() If you have been following the Flatirons Tuning Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/flatironstuning), you know that we not only competed in this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, but that this year’s event was historic for a number of reasons. The two biggest topics of discussion are the catastrophic crashes of Paul Dallenbach and Jeremy Foley, and the weather. A couple of our Flatirons Tuning Staff were on top of Pikes Peak for the race, and got to enjoy, rain, sleet, hail, and even a little snow. Being in Colorado, we are used to changing weather, but not usually in August. And of course, rain, sleet, and snow are not exactly ideal conditions for a time attack race. What is seemingly lost in this is that the world record time for the climb to the top of Pikes Peak was shattered by over 5 seconds not once, but twice, with just a few minutes between the runs of Romain Dumas and Rhys Millen. Dumas was a newcomer to Pikes Peak, and set down a blistering time of 9 minutes and 46.18 seconds in his Porsche 911 GT3 R. Rhys has competed at Pikes Peak a number of times in the past, and it was clear to anyone watching his record setting run that he was intent on taking the overall record back. And that is exactly what he did. On the Friday before the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, is an event called Fan Fest in down-town Colorado Springs. This is a chance for people to see that cars and meet the drivers that are running in the hill climb. Flatirons Tuning had the chance to sit down with Rhys during that time, and talk about his goals for the Rhys Millen Racing Hyundai Genesis not only for the hill climb, but for Formula Drift as well. And we also talked about a few other exciting things that Rhys and RMR have in the works. Enjoy the interview and thank you for listening. Cooley Click Here to listen to the Pod Cast

![]() The driver of our Rally Car, Scott Crouch, has competed in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2004 and 2005 when it was part of the Rally America series, and we actually won our class in 2005. However, at that time our driver was Tanner Foust, and Scott was the Co-Driver. 2012 is the first year that Scott has driven the race, so we decided to sit down and talk to him about his experience. In addition we had the opportunity to sit down with a couple other drivers at Fan Fest. The first was Pikes Peak Hill Climb veteran Dave Kern. Dave has competed in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb a number of times, as well as some of the other local Colorado Hill Climbs and Rally Events. He has had some trouble the last few years with mechanical issues, but this year, especially with the road being fully paved, he has worked up a new package for his Evo, and has some high hopes for 2012. We also spoke with another Rookie Driver to Pikes Peak, James Robinson who is driving the Honda Racing NSX. This is one of the coolest cars that we saw at Fan Fest, and of course, with the NSXPO coming up next month, we definitely have a soft spot for an awesome NSX. The car that he is driving has a great story behind it, so make sure that you listen for all the details. Thanks for listening, and enjoy. Click Here for the Pod Cast
