Production is unlimited. At least, only limited by how many the factory can pump out.

271 were sold in May, which is more than 1/3rd of 750. There will be more than that sold PER MONTH for this car for the rest of the year.

Cityside Subaru in Belmont, apparently they are the "best dealer" around and are getting 35 brz from Subaru but they are not the best. They got driven out of Arlington mass for being so crappy and horrible and settled in Belmont. If you do go there ask for the salesmen Peter, he's very nice unlike the other ones.

Yeah, I'm going to the other side of the state. I'm making the trip to Bertera in West Springfield. I bought my first STi there when they first came out. I only paid invoice and had it delivered to my house upon arrival. They were great to deal with, so I'm giving them the opportunity again.....unlike Patrick for my 2nd STi. LOL

It's not so far fetched. Perrin is showing a pickup of 7-8hp with a few exhaust parts and no tuning. It wouldn't surprise me if tuners figure out how to get 250 NA hp out of this motor with bolt ons, cams and a tune.
It would be a major engine redesign to move the torque peak from 6500 to 8000.

With Mazda announcing a supercharged Miata, that puts the pressure on for a BRZ STI.

Yes, a supercharged Miata Concept built by Flying Miata with talks of a couple hundred models if they decide to make it. Real pressure for a BRZ STI.

Okay, maybe not so much pressure as encouragement...

Eh, I guess you are right. The torque does drop off quite a bit after 6500. Either way, I honestly don't think it'll be all that difficult for Subaru to squeeze 225-250hp out of this motor even if it means increasing the displacement. I would think they could easily make a FA/FB hybrid motor work.

Yes, a 250HP NA engine would ROCK, but overall reviews show that the standard 200HP is plenty for what this car's purpose is, so to wait a few years for 50 more horsepower seems fairly contradictory to me given what you want and expect.

Keep in mind that "rare" is relative. This community is small, so people know each other, but there are still a TON of people that check out turbocharged Subarus (or Subarus that aren't the Outback/Legacy/Forester/Impreza) as head-turners. My WRX is almost 2 years old and I STILL get compliments and looks. *shrug* If you want to keep it "rare" then move away from where they're popular.

Example: A BRZ in Alaska or somewhere with a lot of snow would be considered "rare", and conversely a WRX/STI in Malibu/San Diego might be considered rare since either seems inappropriate to those territories.

If you buy a BRZ NOW then, IF the BRZ STI comes out, you can just switch up. The money isn't lost if you enjoyed the BRZ during that time.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
