There's a bit of community in that area.

Turn in Concepts, an excellent place, is a little more than an hour east of Indianapolis.

AMS and P&L, and others in Chicago. Plenty of options really. Track use may be limited to the strip. We don't really need to break the cars do we!?... Really, do we?

Ben, nothing wrong with bringing the fam. That's a triiiiiip for you to come east.

Actually Columbus, Ohio would be in the middle of all three of you. And being that close to skyline drive I would just go there. That place is awesome to drive.

i'll run at the strip all day, this poor thing doesn't have the power to break anyhitng mechanical, i'll just be running steady 18's all day without launching while you guys are suffering from heat soak

been to turn in concepts a few years back on the 48hrs of tristate, awesome guys and so damn down to earth.

honestly i'd like to get together and either make a film, shoot, or drive and improve. dragon seemed cool but its way out of the way for ben and i can't see him coming with his family, and then ditching them for the weekend, makes no sense.

if we get together, as cliche as it sounds, its a guys weekend, which mean cars, beer, cameras.

...i honestly dont know any other places like the dragon in the US. after finals i'll hit the interwebs running and search

yea the place is riddled with cops and tourists, didn't realize you guys were looking for fun roads to drive like that. I go for the scenery, it's a great place for pictures too. But I don't know any other places like this where there's hardly any cops.

Well if I drive out there with the family, I'd probably need to spend most of my time with them unless you guys want to do touristy things. I don't think it's likely I'd make a weekend trip by myself either. So it would probably be like an afternoon of hanging out, driving, whatever with you guys, and then most of the other time with the family. Unless you all want to see tourist sites. I'm not going to be able to spend 48hours straight at the track, touring shops, driving twisty roads at double the speed limit, etc. Since we'd only have 1 car, I couldn't really leave them anywhere either.

it depends where we decide on, i for one would love to site see and experience things, i usually never have the time to do that when i wa oyunget playing travel hockey and hockey in college. would always go to a city i always wanted to see, see hte hotel lobby, play a game and leave. would not appose sight seeing.

but i also see where you're coming from also. i think it just comes down to finding a place that would fullfill all of our needs, somewhere we wouldn't have to be breaking ALL the laws to get to have some fun

its isn't even about cops, i'm all for scenery and driving. it just you know with 4 idiots together cars will be driven fast no way around it. however you dont have to be flying at 100mph+ to be driving fast. just looking for a place to enjoy the cars as we want to . maybe even some friendly competition? thats why the dragon would be ideal...however that is a trek for me, and one hell of a ride for ben.

however you are more than welcome to fly to jersey and ride with me in the breeze ben if we do go to the dragon. hell you can drive too, i like naps

Maybe something could be worked out, but I think it's most likely I'd do it as a family affair, and that means they'd probably be in the car the whole time, so no fun time driving for me. Unless the route is like half an hour round trip and they could hang out somewhere.

Looks so good man. I'm jealous!

On the "meet" topic, I'm in SE MO so I'm game for pretty much anywhere that works out in the middle

edit - I read it out of context. I'd be up to caravan to Tail of the Dragon, from Chicago.

As far as fun roads around Chicago, there are none. It's flat and filled with potholes. Autobahn is a fun track (3.56 miles). I've inquired with them before for private rental, but it would take about 20 pre-paid commitments up front to book to make it feasible. There are tons of regular track days there during the year. I plan to go to a few this summer through AMS and MVP.

I would love to go as well (if my car is together), should be on the road Wed. and my wife and daughter I am sure would like to see the sights. Although my daughter just turned 11 so i am sure she will want a friend to go, but they can all hang at a hotel if we find one with a pool!

Engine looks good.

I hope that clutch holds! I tried the same one and it slipped the first day on high boost!

It will be fine. You have to remember that I will RARELY ever run e85 due to the lack of pumps in my area. I'll be on the 93oct map probably 98% of the time. This clutch is durable and very streetable...so it fits my needs perfectly. My stock clutch still looked great when we took it out of the car.

I wouldn't be worried so much about the clutch as I would the transmission :P I know you're pretty easy on the trans, but are you worried at all about its durability and holding up? Any back up plans in the case that it did fail?

Was wondering too man, how do you like the 1.5XTR in terms of drive ability and spool up? Thinking about the same turbo myself for the future

Can't wait to see what numbers you get on the dyno man!
