I'm sorry to see the car in its current state. However glad to hear you are ok! The car I'm sure will get fixed.

Glad you are safe, but very sorry to see this! I hate dumb drivers in SUVs, they create more damage than when they all use to drive civics and camrys haha. Don't let stupidity of others discourage you, best car on here that just keeps getting better!!!

I just read this whole thread since yesterday (well, not every post, but everything rsutton1223 posted and what he responded to). As I realized I was approaching present time with the engine swap, I was getting excited. The accident was like a surprise plot twist in a movie.

Dayum, that sucks man. Hopefully it's just the door skin and fender. My car is still at the shop for body work from getting rear-ended. Hopefully picking it up tomorrow, but of course it's snowing today and I have a ****ty FWD rental car.

Update: I had my guy look at the car and the State Farm rep just left my house. They were both right on par with each other at around $4,500 in total damage. The repair work should start next week.

While it is in the body/paint shop...I think I am going to get some other things taken care of as well. At least the process is moving forward since the holidays really slow things up.

Epic Hahaha at least you can joke about it man, always a good sign

Any estimate on how long it may take before she's back to normal? When I banged mine up it took almost a month an a half to get a lot of the tiny parts from Japan... Grr

Not sure yet honestly. It should go into the shop on Monday as long as the paperwork and check from his insurance company gets here. Initial estimate is $4,500 in damage but I have a feeling that might grow a little bit. The car will actually be in that shop for a little bit longer after the insurance work is done for other reason...

Is your front suspension tweaked or is the wheel just turned in the photo?

Funny note on the car.

Wheel is just turned. Car still drives straight as an arrow. I checked the alignment as well after the accident.

Dedication ...

Before the car gets smoothed out, have you decided on the wing? It'd look outstanding.

I have been going back and forth on it. I too think it would look awesome. I have to get in touch with my contact on Monday.

I thought I would give you guys an update on how things are going. Insurance approved the add ons so work on the car will finally start next week. I am taking this opportunity to do some work to the car so there will be quite a few changes coming out. I might as well do it while it is already in there taken apart! I am paying the extra BTW so this is completely legit and not trying to screw the insurance company. I don't personally believe in doing that.

I'll leave most of the details for when it gets out, but one of the things that is getting don e is a complete revamp of the 3 way active front stage. Here is a diagram of the new setup.

The new tweeter and midrange will be replacing this current setup in my pillars.
