Ziebart detail?

Hey people, did a search and couldn't find anything. I bought a ~$150 detail off of groupon for $50 for a ziebart exterior detail. Haven't used it yet and wondering it anybody has any experience with them.

....I'll just say that in my own experience (seeing the result of various others work), you usually get what you pay for in this industry. Having said that, there are obviously plenty of folks out there who would be perfectly happy with results I might be appalled by. ....if there were not, larger high volume "detailing" services would not be as successful as they are.

Fair point. For references sake, how much could a good detail job (on the expensive side) go for?

It really depends on what is involved in the price, the market/area, etc. You can poke around on detailing-specific forums like Autopia and see what detailers there typically charge (if they are willing to discuss it). ....or find some in your area to call. IME, detailers I might trust in my area will usually by the hour and quote by individual case. They don't necessarily offer a flat-fee/package service although "basic" services marketed this way is not indicative of a "bad" detailer.

I speak from experience with Ziebarts "detail."

Only reason I spent the money for it was because I needed something done quick. Other than that, they don't do anything special that I couldn't, nor you, could do.

Scale of 1-10 I'd give them a 7?

Thanks for that, I didn't expect much. I've tried my hand at detailing a couple of times but can't really seem to get the swirls.
