Post Has anyone installed 6.5in speakers in rear door or rear deck of WRX?

I know the rear doors call for a 4" speaker and that there is a removable plastice baffle/cup. Has anyone installed 6.5" speakers in the rear door of the WRX?

How about in the rear deck of the WRX?

Or maybe if the 2.5rs 4 door of the previous year is the same, then how about that?

thanks

I looked at it today, and it seems as if screw holes in the doors are just the right loaction for a standard 6.5" speaker, unfortunately, the hole in the sheet metal isn't large enough for standard 6.5" speakers.

Before hacking through the sheet metal to make the 6.5s fit, I'd be careful about the clearance between the speaker and window. I didn't do any careful measuring, as I was just seeing if any of the speakers I pulled out of my, soon to be junked, Integra would drop into factory locations.

Fronts should drop in with a flange/spacer made to bridge the gap from the screw holes to the standard 6.5" mounting holes...or just drill into the sheet metal. Looks like there's plenty of clearance there.

My guess is there isn't going to be a whole lot of room in the rear doors, I mean why would they put 4s there if 6.5s would fit fine? There will probably be some issues clearing the window or the door panel.
