The use I have in mind is to have my entire CD collection encoded as MP3s and available in my car. 6x20=120 CDs!!! Yeah, Baby!!

Have a Nice Day?

Whoa... if you find one let me know

Turk

...well actually now that I think about it. You can fit foughly 20 albums on a mp3 CD so there really would be no use of the CD changer, just a thought.

To my knowledge Fosgate is the only people that make a Changer that will handle MP3. It is a trunk mounted changer.

Whoa there. The RF MP3 player doesn't fit in a DIN slot. It's just a changer.

I think the Kenwood unit is a heck of a deal for the relatively new technology. Just put all your MP3s in folders and it's just like having a 8 or 10 disc changer.

Thumbs up

You're talking about the RFXMP3.8

<IMG SRC="http://rockets2.rockfordcorp.com/intershoproot/eCS/Store/en/Products/SourceUnits/images/prod_rfxmp3.gif" border=0>

It's a flash-card MP3 "changer" not a CD changer. It's not exactly what you've described, but it will hold 8 CF (Compact Flash) cards full of MP3 files. It will also fit in a 1-DIN space (or in the glove box, trunk, etc.). Add it to a Rockford Fosgate CD player head unit and you've got a good CD/CF MP3 solution that will fit in a 2-DIN slot.

-Red

[Edit: I tried and tried to give you a direct link to the product page, but the search string/URL is too long. Go to www.RockfordFosgate.com and search for the RFXMP3.8 for more info. Oh, and don't ask me what they cost retail. I don't know.]

Or you may get Kenwood's Excelon Z919. Not a changer though.

AIWA has the CDC-MP3 which is signifigantly cheaper than the Kenwood unit. The display could be more useful and I wasn't too impressed with the anti-skip(I think this was because I could not install the bar to hold the back of the unit in my previous car) but it's a good unit overall.

Apparently Sony has a unit that plays MP3's now.

Wink

I guess I'm going to have to install a freakin computer with a huge hard drive in my car. I've got over 500 cd's and about 20gb's of MP3's on my computer. That's a lot of music. I'm just going to stick with my stock cd/tape player and keep using musicmatch to burn audio cd's from mp3's. That JVC unit does look nice though. Anybody know how much it runs retail? I looked for pricing on the web but no luck.
