I was shopping about an hour from my house and found a sweet deal. I saw at the Kmart clearance aisle a meguiars clay bar kit(s) for $5 and the last NXT gen wax 2.0 for $4. I spent $9 for both of these. I'm glad I took a look!!!

Been using it exclusively since 2008.

... HD Wax, not the clearance table.

Im planning on using the claybar tomorrow and was wondering it these were the correct steps.

Wash
Claybar
Apply NXT 2.0 wax

Is this the correct steps or should I apply some sort of polish before the NXT wax?

This is the correct way to do it. What sort of condition is your paint in? That should determine whether or not you should polish your car.

My car is a 2010 and the paint is in good condition just has a lot of swirls. Its white so I don't notice it except in flourescent lighting. Recently the back got dinged and the marked is noticable at an angle so I want to touch that up. Would I need to polish? The ding is pretty good but white blend it in from a distance.

I think it would be a good idea to look into a quality swirl remover. I'd wait for someone else to chime in though.

Anybody have more expertise in this? What should I do in my steps? And what are some good products? Preferably OTC because I can't get stuff online to well.

If I did this:

Wash
Claybar
Swirl X
Scratch X
Nxt 2.0 wax

Would that work good or should I use scratch x before swirl x. Is swirl x made to be applied on the entire car? I'm planning on just using scratch x where needed.

Can all the above be applied by hand with good results? I don't have money to buy a portercable since I'm going to college in the fall.

if your car has swirls i would try picking up either a compound or a polish. usually claying would reveal more underneath since the contaminants are lifted. you can try using a polish first which corrects light swirls and adds more pop to the color. i personally own both ultimate compound and ultimate polish. meguiars product is usually able to be applied both by hand and machine. you can apply the wax after the polish and remember a little wax goes a LONGG way...or else have fun removing it after.

so wash/clay/(compound or polish)/wax

if i said something thats invalid please correct me

Don't those meguiars products just fill in the swirls? That eventually those swirls will show up again? If so, does anybody have any recommendations of product that can be applied by hand?
