Default Cracked Invidia Up Pipe (Pics)

After dealing with issues of late spool, poor power under boost, inconsistent power, etc I finally found my problem. This part is around two years old has been put through normal stresses of a daily driver. All the support brackets were in place. Both the pipe and welds cracked.

I did some research and found out there are others that have had similar issues. I contacted Invidia and they will only give a 1 year warranty.

FYI to anyone looking to buy an Up Pipe. Perrin's are not much more and they stand by their product for 5 years. That's who I went with this time around.

Not saying what uppipe is best but wouldn't you think a uppipe like grimmspeed with a flex joint would keep this from happening. The stock one has one so shouldn't your replacement have one

After reading many posts it seems the flex joints have an even higher failure rate.

I've had a STi catless uppipe on mine for 10 years. Can't beat OEM fitment...

I crawled under the car planning to pull spark plugs and check them, then I saw the exhaust stains on the up pipe from where it had been leaking.

when I had Invidia header on my car it cracked in the exact some place in the exact same way, and also cracked and bent itself out of the flange that meets the head. not surprised to see this happen to someone else.

I have seen several others with the same issue as well. It's possible that when these are layed up in the jig the dimensions are not close enough to spec. Regardless I think it's pretty hard to blame the customer in most cases.

Here are a few others with similar issues.

Not related but speaks to quality control.

Note my Perrin is the 1.75 ID, much smaller than the Invidia pipe. The Perrin piece has thicker flanges as well.

Crap, I just bought a used Invidia on here! I also had a flex section in a GS EWG uppipe fail after quite some time, they replaced it no questions asked.

+1 for the crack.

I noticed a decent amount of undercut on the welds when the pipe came in. Going to pull it when I swap in gtspec headers.

Found mine cracked after 2 years of use. almost 50% of the pipe was cracked near the weld.
