Doesn't sound fishy to me, he had custom work down at price specifically quoted to his request. That's how custom work is done.

Everything looks great Rob. Inspiring.

Nothing fishy at all. A friend of mine co-owns the company. If you call him up and say "I want the same setup Robb has"...he'll happily quote you the same price I paid. I just feel that since it is not stock that it is not my place to quote his pricing. That's all.

Thanks! That is exactly what I am trying to say. I don't know why everyone is so up in arms about it honestly.

Oh yeah...just got a teaser picture from Alex. Tomorrow is going to be a great day.

Looks very nice.

Just curious, but what about the passenger's side front air-bag if the dash is covered? Or is it located between the dash-top and the glove-box?

It is covered and JPM slits under the material just in case which is probably overkill. However, there are plenty of leather wrapped dashes out there so I have to imagine that nothing will stand in between an airbag and deploying. Having been hit in the face by one in the past...I can tell you one layer of Alcantara is not going to keep it from deploying.

im not really digging the company making their logo so large on the center console... maybe on the side the dash hidden by the door when its shut but not out in plain view... that seems tacky

I asked for that...so that is a personal preference of mine. I saw it done on the RallySport Direct car and liked it...so I did it in my car as well. With what some people do with stickers...that is pretty subdued and supports the company that did the work.

So an update on today...

The embroidery machine went down last night half way through the final logo for the seats. Alex texted me this morning at 3:30am to break the news.

It is going to be next week on the seats. He was really upset that it couldn't get done today. It's all good though...a little bit more time is not going to kill anything and stuff like this happens in custom manufacturing. The good thing is that their customer service is over the top regardless of who you are...so I will patiently wait a couple more days for the seats to be finished. It will actually give a little bit more time to finish up a couple other things we are doing with the interior.

While the above is still true (and we're taking the machine in for service tomorrow), I did want to share a bit of an information that I've been keeping secret from Robb today. In a completely unexpected McGuiver style series of movements, Joe managed to help coax two additional embroidery jobs out of the machine before it completely went kaput. But Shh! Please don't spoil the surprise

Also, please keep in mind that fitment tweaking or adjustment has not been performed. If you think that the seat upper looks a bit plain, then you're correct. We're missing the belt-guides (also known as harness pass-throughs). Replacements, in black, are on order from Sparco.

And before I forget, we do not force our marque upon any of our products. Any product or project that you may come across that features our name has been added by the request of the customer.

Happy Friday,
Alex

I'm curious as to how many hours you have into this? I'd like to do the math as to what something like this would cost.

I am sure rsutton will chime in on this, but the seat looks wonderful installed! However, the installation was not without hiccups. I will let rsutton expound upon that

Weathertechs (http://www.weathertech.com/) are what I saw in there yesterday.

As Alex mentioned, we got one of the seats in yesterday. It is amazing how much it transforms the interior already. I am completely blown away. I can't wait to get the other one in and apply some finishing touches on the interior.

I dropped off the other seat (the one I was using in the drivers seat) so it could get done yesterday. Keep in mind, the black harness pass throughs have not come in from Sparco yet so those will be added to the installed seat as well. This is also not the final steering wheel design. JPM should have the new wheel in and recovered sometime this week.

Here are some pictures to pass the time. I am going to do a real shoot of the interior once everything is in and complete. We have something insane in process for the A pillars but I am not sure if that will be done yet when I everything else goes in.

Oh yeah...the headache. Damn seat bolt snapped on install. Best I can tell is that it was a faulty bolt. Wouldn't have ever been an issue if the seats weren't coming in and out so much but I did end up having to drill it out and retap that hole.
