I am looking for a short shifter, what's the install like on this, and where are you located.

This is the easiest install. You just unbolt the shift rod from your shifter, slip this on over your shifter, and put the bushings that were in your shifter (where the rod was attached) into it, set the height, and tighten in down. You don't pop out your shift lever or anything else. You just spin it 180 degrees for the install. Instructions are here.
