Hi everyone. Was looking into getting a 2.1 stroker kit for my 02 WRX. Would this kit be complete or would i need to buy other parts to fininsh the kit? I have a VF34 turbo and sti pinks already. Or do you think i would need to go bigger? Im not looking to break any HP records here just get some good numbers. EX. 300-350. Thanks guys

If you buy a pre-assembled kit like the ones above it should contain all the items you need to assemble the bottom end besides case halves, then you will need machine work and depending on the kit, everything balanced. I think Sti pinks will be maxing out with that set up, with a proper tune a vf34 will hit the 300s. You should also get the heads refreshed, a timing belt kit, all new gaskets, and I would do new head studs just to be safe. |

Yes I was looking at getting a kit. What size injectors and turbo would you suggest for this build? Thanks

Are you going to do any work on your heads/cams, where do you want your powerband, what is your goal power wise and reliability, what amount of maintenance are you willing to do and how regularly(are you willing to tear it down and inspect, redo rings and such)? The answers to these can get toward what turbo to use.

2.1L vs. 2.0L is not really about turbo sizing. It's about putting the torque band where you want it.
2.1L will shift your powerband left from the 2.0L. More torque off-boost, boost will happen sooner, and very high RPM capability will be slightly worse. However on the EJ205, high RPM performance is non-existant due to the heads, so you end up in a win-win on an EJ205. You gain on the low and give up nothing on the high end since the heads are the limiting factor. My opinion is that the 2.1L is just a better shortblock match to the stock EJ205 heads and it's always a better option for a street engine... it's just a matter of whether the extra cost is worth it to you. A moderate turbo actually works to the strengths of the 2.1L with stock EJ205 heads. I'm not sure a TD04 would be great for it, but it would work. The 5MT might not like that pairing so much. vf39- GT3071 ish are good sizes to match with stock heads. You can always start with your vf39, then move up if you feel like it (or funds allow). |

this is perfect^^^ couldnt agree with you more. it just depends on what you want blu... for that price you could normally just drop in a complete v7 engine, and then sell all of your old parts... |

I was looking into a 207 but the motor alone is $6000 on eBay. Was looking to spend around that for a whole setup.
