Have a Nice Day? My starter mototr fell off!

Well, I guess that's a bit of an exaggeration
NOTE while reading this, understand that I am not mechanically inclined - I have trouble changing my oil.
One of the bolts that holds the motor on has broken or sheared off somehow. (No, the car has not been in an accident). This caused the motor to shift out of alignment (with it's own torque?) when I turned the key. Made one helluva noise, I can tell you - remember "Good Morning Vietnam"?
Anyhow, this has apparantly destroyed the starter and put a few nicks on the flywheel. The dealer doesn't seem to think it's bad enough to need replacing, but he will make a note of it, so that if I should have future problems, I will be covered. BTW, my dealer will cover this under warranty even though I am 3800km on the wrong side of my 60k km coverage.
I'm looking for a little assurance from you folks that this is an unusual problem, and I should not expect more problems like this down the road.
I love my "new" car (can I still say that after 6 months)?, and now I can't drive it again 'till Monday.
What am I gonna do 'till then?

As well, I have never heard of this. I would say it was just a bad bolt at the right time.

smallschip, good thing you have a good relationship with your dealership. I've actually heard of many instances where dealerships have fixed OOW cars for free or at a good discount just to keep a good customer (I think there is actually a word for this used in the industry).

Anyways, sorry to have that happen to you (don't worry, I think you are the first that I know of with that problem) BUT cool that it was fixed for free!

Thanks guys.
Makes me feel better to know that this was some kind of "fluke". I not so pleased that it happened to ME, but that's life...
Yah, I think my dealer is pretty great. They are having a "garage sale" in their parts dept. next weekend, so I guess he's gonna get some money from me anyhow
2 more days 'till I get it back
Sigh........
