Default Version 1 AP Limitations

Been tuning for a while with opensource and UTEC, but never touched an AP. Can get a really good deal on a Ver. 1. Any limitations to the Ver. 1? Is it worth it?

Thx.

You can only flash maps with it unless you also get an acces tuner (or what ever it's called) with it.

Isn't available to version 1 owners.

It is best to avoid version 1 accessports.

Thanks for the advice.

So an AP V1 isn't worth $50? I was thinking it would give me at least some other options on top of Opensource.

Yes it can certainly be worth $50 if you just want to load a OTS map onto the ECU and forget about it...

Or use it for limited trouble code reading.

Oh, I also forgot... It's also worth $200 as a trade in for an APv2 so... Yea, $50 is a steal...

I was curious about learning it too having been tuning OS and UTEC for a while, but after realizing I can't do jack with it, I unmarried it and threw in a UTEC instead. You should buy mine for $100 and trade in both for $400 towards an V2, lol. What are you messing with? Your Sti or bugeye?

I found a good deal for one for my 04 STI. I was hoping to maybe try Cobb's SD maps, but doesn't sound like that's an option.

I really like the UTEC for SD tuning. I can get a fuel map where I want it in no more than 4 logs/tweaks and PID boost control is great too. Combine the UTEC with some OS tuning, and it's like heaven for me.
