Seeing as the OP started the thread more than a YEAR ago and hasn't been back since, I don't think that has much relavance on anything either way.

When I did respond to the OP's question A YEAR AGO, I pointed out that the BRZ trans has the starter on the other side. So you're going to have to chop a chunk out of your engine block to clear the nose of the starter. Or just roll start it every time you need to go somewhere. Then there's also the issue of the starter being in the same area the turbo fits in. Will they both fit in the same spot? Will the starter heat soak and die quickly?

Why would you want to fit a transmisison meant to go behind a n/a 2.0l behind a turbo 2.5l when you could use a Aisin/Toyota transmission that's been proven to hold more power is available in a bolt up conversion? That's why I point out the existence of a EJ-toyota adapter bellhousing.

funny how you can ask a simple question and people start giving there opinion. I could see if he asked "do you think it would be a good idea to do...." Anyhow I think no one has tried this so on one really knows. I would looking up this info my self just out of curiosity. Em I going to go do this mod? no. but knowing fitment and what can swap over to what cars is part of the subi life. I could see if your buddy smashed his brz and your gear box just took a crap and you have always thought of turning your car into a RWD for drift then ya it would be good to know it it will swap right in (understanding that there will have to be other support mods). It would also be good to know if it will not fit so someone dose not waste there time trying to do this swap when bolt holes and mounts and bells and drive line will not mate up.

In short I would like to see someone give a yes or no and tell us why, and not just why they "think" it will or will not work. good old nasioc

rwd cars and awd cars have the engines in completely different positions. you think if it could be done some kind of company wouldn't have done it as a big marketing stunt for SEMA or something?

the starter motors aren't even on the same side...
