Akuma Motorsports: New Time Attack..STI

We are in the process of building a new shop sponsored STI. We have a laundry list of things to finish, but here are most of the mods thus far...

Here is a mod list so far...

Suspension:
KW Racecomp T2's with custom valving
Swift springs (600)
Vorschlag camber plates
Cusco rear trailing arms

Custom front splitter... aluminum diversion panel to lower the front lip without sacrificing suspension travel

Rear Diffuser is in the works
Aeromotions wing....however it will not go on until the chassis
is balanced/dialed in as is. I want to use the wing to help the aero, not
cover up a potential deficiency

How did you get custom valving on the Racecomp T2s?????

When I spoke with Myles in Dec/Jan. looking to get custom valving on mine - he said they don't rebuild them and KW no longer offers re-valve/rebuild service on T2s. They'll only rebuild them if they broke under warranty and he said my only option was to get JRZs or wait for 'another option' in the works.

So....... how'd you get them?

In all honesty, the owner had them before we started. I can find out when I talk to him.

I like the JRZ, but the owner had these already. We will run them with the Swifts and then see where we run out of adjustment. If we need to make the change, we can do that later.

I was trying to finish the sheetmetal work and turbo kit this week, but with this heat it may not happen. We were trying to make it in time to shoot it for DSport. We will have to see how far we get by the end of the week.

Wow. If I put the tank horizontally...we should not be building this car.

We will be running with EMRA, NASA, and SCDA for testing/tuning. Since we are pretty well into the season, I am only running time trials with Real Time Attack and EMRA. I don't recall the class off the top of my head. Unlimited with Real Time Attack though.

I'm a little curious on why only a 3076 for an "unlimited" time attack build. Upgrading in the future once the car is all sorted or are you squeezing into a power/weight class with one of the sanctioning bodies?

Glad you know...you have no idea how many tech calls I get asking 'Why do I have oil pressure fluctuations, my tanks laying flat! I get about 3 - 4 a month.

If you guys have any questions or need any parts for the dry sump let me know. I work at Peterson Fluid Systems.

I want to keep a balance between spool and overall power. This car will make well over 500HP which should be more than ample for the weight. I find the 35R to be a little big with the gearing in the 6 speed. At this time we are staying stock on the trans, so this should work well. Should have about a 4500-4800 RPM power band.(3500RPM - 8000 roughly)
