Default need help

05 wrx flashed stage 2 and car ran great and pulled hard data logs looked good from what i was told other then i was under boosting a little. so i was told to try the HWG map so i reflashed my ecu and took it for a spirited drive and on way home from the back road i was doing data logs at i was going 55-60 on the highway and the car shuttered and and made a screeching noise so i pulled over and it was maken a tick/slap noise so i took it home and let it sit so i could check the oil. oil was at about half and i had just had the oil changed a week before -_-.... so i took it to lube shop and i notised if i went over 3000 rpms the slapping noise/shutter got louder but went away if i let off the throttle. Got to lube shop and they said it was blown and i need a new engine and they would find one and install one for about 8 grand... so i went home keep it under 200 rpms and let it sit for a week till i could have it towed. Went out today to take a second look and checked the oil... it was sitting at the low point?... thought o **** its leaking, so i looked under the engine bay and there wasnt a drop of oil and i have never blown smoke from the exhaust. Where the hell did it go? tow truck is coming tomorrow to take her away so she can get better but just wanted to know if u guys had any thoughts? also car runns normal no missing or spudering just this shutter/ticking/slapping noise coming from under the hood and the noise incresess at 2500 - 3000 rpm, its not a loud banging or rod knock either. thanks a lot!

one more thing, after i got it home i flashed the stock ecu back to stock and it still was making this noise.

Too many variables... Could have a cracked oil pickup. Sounds like you need to take your car to a subie specialist, not just a regular repair spot.

It could just be something like an uppipe gasket leak (which will make a loud screeching noise) or the intercooler y-pipe (which has a tendency to crack on these cars) which could make more of a whistling-type noise. Possibly an exhaust leak could also cause noise. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that you have an issue with the motor yet. As Black94Snake said, you should take this to a professional Subaru tuning shop. A lube place is not going to be able to diagnose the problem and the fact that they want $8k to replace your motor means you should stay far away from that place.
