What the Rockets are willing to do to acquire Howard is ****ing stupid. A complete gut, sending almost every asset to Orlando or waiving them entirely. This for a defensive player who puts up average scoring numbers.

Mavs receive Elton Brand off of waivers for 2.1m. Pretty good pick up.

Rockets are also about to give Lin $25 million. They upped the offer to screw the Knicks into the luxury tax.

Bulls bench mob is no more. Korver traded to ATL. Brewer and Watson most likely gone. Asik might not be matched. He might go to Rockets for $8 million.

Wow Knicks got Felton back. I hope they don't get rid of Lin.

I never thought the Knicks would let Lin go. All the local sports talk in the area are implying that Knicks front office was a little turned off by Lin's attitude. Oh and Jason Kidd got a dwi. Rough day for the Knicks.

Called it.

The reality is that Houston's contract offer is way oversized, and they just wanted to force NY into the luxury tax. Knicks fans should be fine if Lin leaves, because Felton is a solid point who works well in the Knick system. Losing Lin is not an end-of-the-world scenario.

With Felton, Kidd and Baron Davis (he's still there right?) I don't think they will be matching his offer.

I just assumed that no matter what any other team offered Lin the Knicks would match due to the mere fact of the pr nightmare I thought they would endure, at least that's what all the local sports radio were saying. I swear these nba "insiders" that come and report on these shows are worse than weathermen, anything outside of a 6 hour window they will have no idea what's actually going to happen.

Baron exploded his knee in the playoffs and it probably ended his career.

It would have been nice if the Knicks could have signed Lin, but honestly, that is a messed up contract by the Rockets. Good luck in Houston.

Oh, and thanks, Jason. We really needed some more press about how much we suck. It's too bad Jeremy Lin wasn't here to "learn" from you.

I was just about to post these exact words.

The Rockets offer to Lin is exactly the reason why the NBA is having trouble being successful. It overpays for players left and right, and costs for tickets and everything else go through the roof. Although I'm really surprised the Knicks didn't match it, they have a habit of grossly overpaying players (*cough Allen Houston *cough Marbury). Lin is worth about half that contract, if that. He played 25 games in one season. He isn't proven, has no left hand, and no defense.
