Well they, and every other team, knew about his back and questioned it's durability at the draft. That's the only reason he fell to Boston at 22. They knew the risk. Still.

It was worth the risk though I think. Hopefully he can come back and play again. Would suck if his career ended so soon.

I'm kind of okay with Rondo and Sullinger being out. I made peace with this season and this big 3/4 era finally seeing the end of the road. They can't continue year after year going with Rondo KG and Pierce plus whatever scraps they can find in free agency. All these injuries will allow us to see if Jeff Green really is one of the guys going forward. Even when he was playing last year he didn't get many minutes. Now he'll have all the minutes he needs and Doc can find out what he's made of. And we get to see what kind of offensive player Bradley can become with his new role with Rondo out in the same way.

I also thought that there wasn't a better option to utilize Lee more. They just had too many guards. And I've always liked Lee, dating back to when he went to the Finals with Dwight in Orlando. Now he'll get some PT too.

Caught a bit of the Magic/Bird documentary last night. Man, Bird was an ice cold introvert.

And Magic going to the Playboy Mansion with Buss. "Yeah, I had fun there." Had fun catching AIDS. Amirite?

Report out there that the Clippers have contacted KG to see if he'd waive his no trade clause. Rumor is they want to ship Boston Bledsoe for KG and probably some other parts.

Why you no foul Vinny?

The no trade clause is completely up to Garnett right? I think he's too loyal to consider it.

Yes it's his decision. I almost hope the rumor pans out and he takes it. There isn't a better team for Boston to trade with. The Clippers have all kinds of young players. It's time to move this train along.

So what position does he play? Blake goes to SF? Or KG goes to SF?

I guess the lineup could get a bit wonky. I'd guess the best bet would be Deandre at center and KG+Griffin in an amorphous blob of SF and PF. Kick Butler out of the starting lineup.

Well if KG goes, then Boston might bring in Oden sooner!

As far as how a no trade clause works.

If garnet were to waive it, does that open the gates for any team to come in with their offers and acquire him or does a proposed deal have to come to him first and he gets to either accept or deny it allowing him to go exactly where he wants?

I think he gets to waive it after seeing a trade. Like the team would come to him with a trade and he could say yes or no.

Not only did KG reach 25,000 points last night, but it was nice to see the rest of his stat lines. From nba.com

Quote:
More than that, by reaching the latest in his mash-up of big number thresholds — at least 25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 1,500 steals and 1,500 blocks — Garnett joined an elite class of … one.
That is one diversified portfolio of stats. It was also cool to see this:

Hardened rivals both in ****ty situations on teams going nowhere. Just being nice to one another for a moment. Even Doc joked with Kobe when they put KG on the big screen. Doc said something to the effect of, "How many you got, 30 or 40 thousand?" Kobe responded, "probably like 20 thousand" both of them having a laugh. Kobe would probably kill for a guy like KG with Dwight being a little girl lately.

Sadly we all know it's fool's gold. A second round out is about the best it can get. And that's only if they get the 7th seed to avoid Miami in the first round. I am enjoying this cluster of misfits doing well for the past week or so though.

I'd also like to add, yes they are on a 6-0 run since Rondo's been out. I'm already sick of people suggesting the Celtics are better off without him. And that his assists are "selfish" assists. Just stop it. This team is NOT better without Rondo. That's just nonsense.

If we can trade him for a good big man next year, then maybe.

Charlotte outlets are reporting that the Bobcats have almost finalized a trade to bring Kris Humphries to CLT. Just when I thought I couldn't care less about this franchise...
