Default 2005 Mitsubishi EVO 8 NHRA 3/4 Tube Chassis Drag Car

We have so many project here at AMS it is time we let some go. This is the tube chassis EVO VIII built by Douglas Autoworks out of Roselle IL. We were sponsors of the car over the past couple years and when the owner moved his operations to California in the summer of 2011 he decided not to take the project with him. When we bought the car it was 95% done only needing a few odds and ends. We really wanted to see this car get done, break the 7 second barrier and crush our old record but we simply do not have the time.

The car is pretty much all fresh with only shake down passes made to dial in the 4 link suspension. The car ran a 9.91 during the suspension setting with approximately 780 awhp. The previous owner only ran the car a few times on low power to dial in the suspension. As the car sits he is confident the suspension is all set-up and the car is ready for some full power runs.

Currently the car is tuned for wastegate boost pressure (approx. 28 psi) making 760 awhp. Since the car runs on Methanol it really needs to be tuned at the track so we have never turned up the wick to see what she will do as weather conditions will greatly affect the tune. We figure at 50+ psi of boost this car should be capable of 1300-1400 awhp.

This car weighs in at only 2243lbs and it is probably the lightest EVO Drag car ever built. Whoever buys this car is getting a steal of a deal as this car probably has well over $100k invested into the build.
