Well to be honest sound isn't a big priority for my ride but a little more boom would be nice, so I got myself a 8" bazooka tube because it was cheap. $150.00 at the good guys. Any how, I was wondering how I should go about wiring this puppy up because I want to make a harness for it so I can take it out if I need to. (don't want to take away from the utility of the wagon)
So again how should this thing be wired? And my friend mentioned that I should tap a wire from my factory sub woofer that has the sub turn on when the car's on...? Any ideas? Ohhh and I want to get a remote for my stereo system. Is it possible to keep the stock head unit and add a remote? Do they sell such a thing or perhaps an adapter? Or am I going to have to buy a new one? I appreciate any and all help Audio-Newbie

your friend was close........... going under the seat for a car's switched wire would be kind of a waste of time though simply because behind your factory radio is everything you need to wire this up. (besidse power of course)
how you wire it is up to you find out if the tube turns on when signal is flowing or only by a switched (remote-turn-on) wire. are you ever going to put in a after market deck? if so you should run line level inputs behind the radio ($20 part) makes it easer when you get your sexy new cd/mp3/whatever in the future. if your looking for the easiest, cheepist, quickest way out of this then follow your direstions that come in the box or spent the $50 to have a shop do it. also check and see if your tube came with the power kit, the new ones in that price range do not........ answer to your most relevent question...... no mater how you wire it where you mount it etc. all you have to do to remove it is pull the plug out of the tube. and no............. no remote available......... scuby didn't make their factory radios with IR capability. have fun! ![]() |
