Default Where to buy Paint Protection Film?

Hello Folks,

Been doing a bit of research into clearbra-PPF. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a retailer with a solid reputation. (web or otherwise)

I want to buy a pre cut kit for my 2012 WRX hatch from someone that will provide quality material and good customer service for a DIY application?

Many thanks,
nichi

I had a look at Xpel. Serious money for that stuff.

Any other suggestions for a reliable supplier of PPF ? A quality product and reasonable price point prefered.

thanks,

Nichi

cleardefender.com, its a reasonable price for a small amount of film.

I tried out a DIY install of PPF from NuSolis on Ebay...

It actually wasn't too bad. The smaller pieces like the fenders, mirrors, front pillars and rear bumper were really easy.

The hood gave me a bit of trouble because it was such a large piece, but worked out eventually.

....I haven't tried the bumper yet but I imagine it'll be a PITA. Waiting for a time when I can devote a few hours.

Durability is the issue with the cheaper PPFs like this ebay one so only time will tell whether or not it holds up. Definitely plan to 303 it regularly.

Also, if you have a SWP...you may want to reconsider this nusolis brand...it has a very very very slight hint of blue.

eBay haha; I got a precut kit for only a couple hundred, a heat gun for 20 from the depot and a friend for the weekend to help out; not to say it was easy, but a great diy to save quite a bit of money and keep the car looking good

I have a distributor on ebay that takes pretty good care of me and others. I'll see if I can dig up his screenname.

Hi Folks,

I thought I would do a follow up on this post in case other first timers were considering a DIY clearbra.

This kit is now installed and I am pleased with the results. It was my first time installing this stuff. For anyone considering a DIY clearbra I say go for it. Installation is tedious but not particularly difficult. Tools required are inexpensive.

Start with small/simple pieces and work your way up to the huge/dreaded bumper. All you really need is patience and enough time set aside.

Read and re read all instructions! Lots of youtube and other videos out there for application tips/techniques.

Enjoy putting the money you saved by DIY'ing it in your pocket or blow it on other mods.

Many thanks to thoes who posted above for their advise/encouragment.

All the best,
Nichi
