Default 2015 WRX CVT ecutek tune by AMR

Well I followed the incomparable "BELLIPOTENS" over the ledge with AMR tuning. Rob walked me thru all the steps. Had me take a screenshot of my car and then helped me flash the new tune.

I couldn't be happier. Smoothed out the shifting in cruise mode, but firmed it up when on it.

The low to midrange is awesome and its over rev is also very much improved.

It also seems like the sound is also improved with wonderful noises coming from the turbo.

I also wanted to spill the beans as a certain forum member had his car on the dyno looking for more goodies when I called today. Rob is legit. Stage 2 and bolt ons are on the way.

After having the tune for a week, the freeway indicated mileage is up at least 2mpg and smoother in every way.....

I am having an issue with a pretty significant bog when riding around town in S mode (naturally worse in I) around 1500-2000 RPMs. Did you have that behavior prior to the tune and if so, did it help?

I think I can relate to what you are saying. The tune gives way more low end and its smoother. Look at Bellipotens dyno graph and you can see how much more power there is available down low. The car is totally different now

I have a 2011 sti. Was getting the boging around the rpms your talking about. I had to change my stock fuel pressure regulator to a 2005 and eliminate all that junk you see hooked up the the stock biz. Made my own lines and used some of the old ones. Ended up looking like cobbs. Kit. But that bog was a lean spot . Lots off ppl dont notice it but its there. A few mods later then you can really feel it.

Never knew you went to AMR - Rob is the man when it comes to ECU tuning - glad to see you also had a positive experience with him.

Now I got to post on your thread for a change!

I am slo and didn't see your post. I bought the programmer and the tune by mail. So far so good.

I want to see what kind of numbers you get from the downpipe??

Do it sooner than later....LOL

Default Stage 2 update

I got a P&L downpipe and Rob at AMR agreed to do a custom email tune based on several cars that he had done on his dyno. Here is what I asked for:

91 oct. tune for bad California gas=Map 1
E-85 20% mixed with 80% 91 is approximately 94 oct=Map 2
Valet with low power and boost maximum amount is adjustable=Map 3

I also wanted to tone down the ridiculous loud and obnoxious cold start up. Now it starts a few hundred RPM's lower and within 2-3 seconds sits down around 1,000 rpms....

Great experience, always prompt responses and overall a really good guy who has really helped me out. I don't want to learn how to build a watch, I just want to be able to tell time.....

Also super smooth and the power is amazing!!

I should have been paid a fee for this amazing glowing review but was rebuffed that. Also no animals were mistreated during the test runs....

anybody familiar with MOTO-EAST in PA ? They are a master tuner for ecutek and they have done some 15 wrx's. One reason I'm considering them instead of AMR is because I can bring the car to them. Its only and hour n half away. I know AMR is good from what Ive read so thats a +1 for them. . R/T Tuning can't do ecutek with the cvt yet because they don't have the software for it. I was also thinking just wait for the COBB CVT maps that so many people are eagerly awaiting. Cobb said it will be very soon last week and they are currently working on it at this time.

I know as soon as I do the ecutek this week then cobb will release it right after.
Ive never tuned a turbo car so trying to be careful with choices I make.

Thanks everyone
