Default Window tinting

I've dredged through the archives and the latest info I can find is from February (or the sticky from 2003...).

I'm looking to get the windows on my husband's Neon tinted. I'm hoping for somewhere near me (101/60). It doesn't need to be super dark since he doesn't have the greatest vision and I tend to drive when we're not at work. He just needs something so his flesh stops burning and the car is cooler.

From what I can gather, these were the favored places, but some of the threads were Old:

Echelon
A Better Tint
Bell Window Tint

Anyone have any current recommendations? Or threads to point me at?

I got mine done at Danny's family car wash! I believe it was 120 for 5 windows and no windshield strip! Hope you find a place!

3m's Crystalline is THE BEST.
It actually blocks infrared heat, and
saves your interior from sun damage,
the AC doesn't have to work as hard,
which saves fuel + wear / tear on moving components,
getting drenched in sweat, and most of all...
Blocks sun rays from causing skin cancer.
I love everything about it!
AND, they'll install it on your windshield, home or business too!
Pure Awesomeness!

I'm not sure if Brett is the GM still...
If he is, tell him Barry with the Right Hand Drive STi sent ya and he'll hook you up.

I always wanted to set up a SWIC tint day for everyone because the stuff is pricey,
but worth every penny.

Head over to "A better tint" in gilbert and talk to Erik (the owner) Let him know Jay sent you and he will give you a good deal

Brian at Echelon and be done with it. I have had my two personal vehicles done by him, as well as referred an entire other car club to him of about 15 cars with not one disappointed customer.

And maybe can someone tell me how to install it? Maybe draw it out on a napkin? Still haven't finished my deck install 4 months after the fact...how much horse power does tinting my car add?

+15-20, depending on how many gigawatts you have running through the capacitor.

Thanks for all the input, guys.
I don't know if we can afford the 3M Crystalline at this point, but will definitely keep in mind. I expect the final decision will depend upon hours and availability, assuming pricing is vaguely consistent.
Typically, how long will they need the car?

Also, thanks for all of the cascading snark vaguely related to window tinting.

Your car, it is very tasty. But damn, how the hell do you see out of those windows at night?

While I don't tend to favor white cars, the white car + dark tint really is growing on me. Looks like your taillights are tinted, too?

FYI, just got a ticket for my windows being 5% (llimo tint) on the front passenger doors. Legal limit for the front windows is 32%. the back can be as dark as u want. in fact, u could actually paint the back windows and as long as the windshield and the front windows are within legal limit u can ride around like that in AZ. i asked while i was getting my ticket written up. so now i need my front windows tinted and i want the visor strip done.

It's not too bad once you get used to it. Just have to make sure you give a good look. Yes, my tail lights are tinted with the Harmon Motive smoke overlays. I also have the OEM subaru roof rack installed now too, I painted it with truck bed liner for better aesthetics and durability. Definitely finishes off the look I was going for.
