300 is all you really need.

I often think my subbie is slow but every now and then I'll drop a gear or 2 and punch it on the freeway just to pass someone, and by the time i let of I'm doing 90-100mph, and that's plenty to get you in trouble.

Here my setup just short of 300. 2008 wrx sedan.
Mods:
VF51
Grimmspeed BCV
Turbo SX BOV
2011 wrx stock exhaust
Cobb Downpipe
Open source tune @18.5 pounds (Tony@UMS Tuning)
Made 290/310 with stock downpipe and 08 stock exhaust
Should get at least 30 more I hope at this boost level with the cobb downpipe, we shall see if it was worth 600 bucks.

My advice is to enjoy your car and not always worry about what it can or can't do. I ended up getting rid of my '05, '06 and '09 WRX's because I didn't think I was happy with them, but looking back now, I loved those cars (especially the '06). It's really easy to lose perspective and forget what a blast to drive these vehicles are.

Turboback and accessport would be a good start.

yeah if you went TBE with a pro tune you would be knocking on the door already. Could have both those for $1000...

Don't neglect suspension and brakes. The WRX sits so freakin high its ridiculous. Lowering springs will take care of that

This dude has been tuning Subarus in your area since you were in 8th grade.
He lives and works 6 inches from you.

Why in God's name are you asking idiots on the internet for advice when you have arguably on of the top 5 tuners in the country that is no more than $2 in gas to go see? I drove 6 hours ONE WAY just to meet him. A month later, I repeated the trip to have him tune my car.

2011's require far fewer mods than your 2008 to achieve the OP's goals.

As stated, a TBE and a good tune will likely get you there on a 2011.

Please look into suspension before just tossing on lower springs. Most, except for one, will outright tell you the OEM shocks can't support the lowering springs. The other one recommends you change out the springs, but claims they're okay. In most cases, you can't and shouldn't just slam this car.

stiffer rollbars front/rear are a better handling mod than slamming your car.

By a lot, most lowering kits make your suspension geometry worse. Yes I know it looks "cool" to be dragging your wrx along the pavement like every VW out there...but you're not improving your car's performance.

^This.

Also, ask your self (more than once): "Why do I need/want 300 whp?".

^ I hate pictures like that. I can't see anything... Perfect, black wheels, black tires, in a black wheel well. Get some light on that thing! Were looking for fender gap, not window tint!

Back on topic, plenty of people have stated it... Turbo back or just a down pipe, tune, and you're set. And although everyone will disagree with me (aside from people who have actually done it), an intake seems to add a good 20-30 ft/lbs, as long as you're tuned for it.
