Default 2012 WRX Stage 1 + AEM ... with knock?? Bill save me!

Just installed the AEM tonight and did a few datalogs to make sure everything is all and well but looks like I have some fine knock learning...

Also looks like I'm under boosting just a bit.

All runs were done safely in 3rd gear.

Bill help me out!!

Some fine knock learning that is re-applied at WOT can be normal noise due to abruptly lifting off the throttle at the end of a WOT run. I would take a few more logs to make sure. Keep in mind that the ECU will re-apply the correction over and over until it gradually learns back to zero.

You also want to add "TD Boost Error" back in as it will tell us how close you are to the actual boost that the ECU is targeting (which can potentially vary by changes in altitude, intake temp).

Thanks bill, I'll add that in and do a few more logs and post them up later today.

I stopped driving the car, just wanted to make sure it was safe!

Here are two more datalogs that were done in 3rd gear safely as well.

I see some fine knock in lower rpms and some fine knock learning in higher rpms, not sure if thats ok..
As well as my boost not hitting close to its peak of 17.5 on your cobb stage1 aem flash.

The fine knock learning is learning back to zero - I would get some additional logs over time just to be sure.

You are underboosting - you can download the high wastegate (HWG) version of your map from the cobbtuning site (maps section) and reflash that to the car (use the AccessPORT Manager software to transfer it to your AccessPORT).

One of the values shown in your logs in borderline extreme for A/F Learning 1. It may be nothing, but I would also keep an eye on these values over time (you can view all 4 values directly by looking at A/F Learning 1 A, B, C, D). They should generally be within +/- 5%, with outside of +/- 8% indicating a possible problem like an intake leak, etc.

Thanks, I'll reflash to high waste gate and also look over the new intake and reassure its tight/no leaks.

I'll post one more set of new logs.

I appreciate all the help Bill, you are the definition of true customer service!!!!!

I saw some air/fuel learning, hope it isnt bad. As well as some knock learning only toward the end of the pull....

Also looks like im probably on the edge of over-boosting at .4 over correct?

Your boost looks good now - no problems there. The single count fine knock learning (-1.4 or less) is typical of the noise seen when you abruptly lift off the throttle during a previous WOT run (it will get re-applied until it learns back to zero). Usually, actual knock you see during a WOT run will be shown as feedback knock (which is not learned), although feedback knock when mashing the throttle at the start of the run is normal.

As far as the A/F Learning 1, it will get cleared when you reflash a map, so you'll need to drive enough (say a tank of gas) for them to populate accurately. You can then check them against the acceptable ranges I listed earlier.

Once again thanks bill, I'll keep an eye on the air/fuel learning as well.
