Default can i run stage 2?

ok so right now i am running stage 1 93 octain. however i have a strait catback(no resanator, no muffler). i also have a short ram intake. the exhaust's lack of backpressure (to free flowing) i believe is causing me not to reach peak boost. can i run stage 2 even though i have the stock down pipe, what would happen if i did run stage 2 with stock dp.

I wouldn't run the stage 2 map, the stock down pipe will not flow the same as an aftermarket dp.

Don't do that.... They have maps for 02-05 that resolve your problem, "low wastegate map" or something like that

Edit: on cobb's site

Thank you! ok i will wait for the downpipe, but what would happen if i didnt, not that i am im not. but the thing is is i tried the high wastegate map for the car and it actually made it worse. with the regualar stage 1 i was hitting about 8.6 pounds of max boost and with the high wastegate only like 7.2 or so.

Stage 2 is only for an aftermarket downpipe. If anything, besides not being appropriate for your car, you will likely boost less with a stage 2 map vs. stage 1. There are many reasons why you could be under your target. Do you have a version 2 (gray with color screen) or version 1 (black with b&w screen) AccessPORT? If you have a version 2 AccessPORT, best thing to first get a 3rd gear data log as described in the video below (if you can do so safely).

Also, as mentioned, you want to make sure that you are running an intake that is compatible with the map you are using. I assume this is an 02 WRX, in that case, only the Cobb SF or stock intake is compatible with our 02-05 WRX OTS maps. Using a different intake with an incompatible map can possibly result in the improper airflow being determined by the MAF sensor, resulting in the incorrect fueling and ign. timing and, worst-case, potential engine damage. You can, however, get a custom tune through one of the tuners in our protuner network for the intake.
