Default Flat tire question. AWD

Howdy. I blew out a tire on vacation yesterday. I have another set of wheels/tires at home but it is about 80 miles away. Tires on car have half tread left. If I pull the awd fuse could I put a new tire on the car and drive home without killing the car? I can't spend 900 on 4 new tires right now so I'm trying to get creative. the tires on te car are 18" so they are spendy.

I don't know about a new tire, but it seems possible as your doughnut won't be the same as your current tires, just make sure you put the new tire in the correct spot according to owners manual, can't remember if it goes in front or back, thinking back.

Yeah that is what I'm thinking. I do t have the donut because it doesn't fit over 4pots. I'll put the new tire on rear for this trip as per the manual. Thanks.

Made it home with a brand new tire that didn't match the others and by fusing the fwd fuse. Everything seems fine. Going to sell the 18" spec-b wheels and run 17" 06 wrx wheels instead. I'll post in the classifieds. It if you are interested pm me an offer. All wheels have some rash but roll perfect on the hwy.
