Default Looking for a local seat vendor

Hey SCIC as the title implies, I'm looking for a company or shop where I can actually go look at/sit in some seats before I actually purchase some. I'm fairly new to racing seats and would hate to have spent a ton of money on seats that look cool online only to fun out they suck in person. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Sube sports normally have the best local selection. I can't remember what Porsche and BMW shop I went to years ago had a decent selection. Hopefully that points you in the right direction

I have a pair of Cobra Imola 2. Used 3 months. If you find them comfortable pm me. $800 for both but you better be skinny.

Thanks for the information man. Forgive my ignorance but, where is sube sports located? And I've never sat in Imola's, to be honest I've only sat in the pole positions. But yes I'm pretty damn skinny lol.

Go to Werks II in Burbank. Great selection of Sparco and Recaro, in both street and racing applications, and you can sit in them all. Jackie knows her stuff

I do have some Sparco pro 2000s for sale too

Cool thanks man. I'm definitely more interested in the sparcos.

If its any help, I've had sparco pro 2000 since '02 in my rally car that I DD. Probably the most comfortable fixed back seat I've ever sat in. I've tried many when searching and these fit like a glove.
They are pretty skinny seats and have high sides. I'm a 34" waist and fit with a little room. 38" will probably be to big. Only thing I would warn you about is getting in and out. The left side rail material will eventually wear. But sparco sells covers to redue them when needed. I would say mine started to wear 5 years or so after buying them. You can also add a patch or sew in a leather patch to help.

Thanks for the advice Marvin. Yeah it's really tricky trying to find the right seat for me as I'm pretty thin. I'm like a 29" waist! You have any suggestions given my size? I originally thought of the sparco sprint v's as they are fairly affordable and have the fifth point pass through, but I worry it might be one of those you get what you pay for deals.

I would pass on the Sprint V for a couple reasons. One, they fit really really odd. They have HUGE bolster under your leg that I personally can't stand. They shoulder bolster is pretty nice, but isn't real tight in the hip area (I'm 5'11 with a 32 waist.) I'm also deathly afraid of the tube construction. I'm sure it's just be being paranoid, but the potential thought of the tubes trapping you in a crash, vs a composite seat just breaking, freaks me out. The only reason I own them was to replace the Recaro seats I had in there so I could try and sell it.

My fav seat I've ever sat in is the Recaro Profi. I had them in my track car, and I'm selling the Pro 2000s that came in my bugeye so I can put the Recaros in. They are VERY snug in the hips and legs, and the shoulder area gives a bit of room, but as soon as you start to slide, they grab you great. I love them. Even did a 3000+ road trip in them.

I like the Pro 2000s more than I thought I would. They are a little wide for my taste (I like to be bear hugged by my seats at all times,) and they are great as a DD seat. Harder to get in and out of than the Recaro though.

My suggestion is to try as many seats you can. And seriously sit in them for at least 10 min. That will give you an idea of what to expect on a "longer" drive.
I've done thousands and thousands on miles in my pro 2k's and have even passed out in them lol.
They should fit fine especially if you are gonna run a 5th or 6th point belt with your waist size.
Why don't you ask the guy that's selling his pro 2k's to sit in them and check them out. Or you can sit in mine and go drive around all strapped in.
