there has been A LOT of this going on in Denver and Co Springs. My friend just got her Ford Escape stolen and found it two days later with busted windows, and a door panel.

Good luck on finding it, people these days need to learn respect for what other people work hard to pay for.

Get the police report asap and get your car entered in their system as stolen asap.

Car recovered because I had Lo-Jack...but a little too late. Filed the police report at 11:30pm, car found 6am because of Lo-Jack. I highly recommend it obv.

ignition shot

boost gauge gone, AEM wideband gone, steering column all sorts of f'ed up

media/navi gone, center console destroyed/missing

other RANDOM things:
- front grill gone
- rear bumper scratched up
- accessport on ground not stolen
- passport 8500 x50 laser detector not stolen

i'm relieved but still filled with anger. thanks for the comments, and hope nothing like this has to happen to anyone else.

Unless they "drove it like they stole" it. I would feel so violated I don't think I could handle it.

Sorry man, that really sucks. I work JUST up the street from there, so I'm familiar with the area. Pretty scary stuff. Used to have a 2nd gen DSM that got broken into up there, but not stolen. I hate that area.

Glad it was recovered though. Any info on the perps or where it was found?

Cars are stolen all the time all over the country. The level of cars being stolen in CO is not necessarily higher than anywhere else, but the amount of subarus stolen in CO seems to be egregiously high. Same goes for hondas in utah.

Glad you got her back though. Thieves are crap.

This is the third STi in a few months that has been snatched from the Denver area... (edit: ...and reported in a thread) To add, just in the last couple of weeks, two bugeye WRX's were stolen from the Denver area as well

Seems like a lot of subaru's are being stolen all around the country. I've been browsing through other areas and it seems like a lot of the GD chassis sti's are being stolen. Chop shops maybe?

Its because a ton of Honda kiddies can finally afford bugeyes. So why work for **** when you can just steal it and swap it over? ****ing douchebags.

I don't think the people (I say people in the most racist way possible) in Utah are smart enough to steal an STI yet. They are still picking off Honda's.

How in the world are they stealing our cars!!! I use to go watch movies up in northfield all the time....I'm suprised that's all they took.

P.S I love the recaro seats...I'm planning on doing that myself in a few weeks.

I'm willing to bet we can hit craigslist or ebay and track down everything that was stolen. Most likely craigslist since ebay requires confirmation of address, phone number, bank account, blood type, shoe size, ladybug nowadays.

What was the method of entry? I mean to say what can I do so this doesn't happen to me when I move out there in a month...

I too would like to know how they're getting our cars. It'll only be a matter of time before they incorporate the GR chassis cars in their theft rings. Are our stock factory alarms easily by-passed??

Yes, if they know what they're doing. I think it was in this exact thread on ClubWRX where someone posted a link to a video where a new BMW 1M was stolen from a driveway in under 3 minutes. Break the window, plug into the OBDII port, disarm, unlock, push out of the driveway and that's it. BMWs are more advanced, when it comes to theft deterrent, compared to our cars. So if they can get those so easily then there's no doubt they can get our cars just as easily, or any other car for that matter.

how did they steal it,tow it? I thought 05's had the ignition immobilizers on them, which would make it impossible to start without the transponder key.
