Unhappy Seriously considering selling my car.

Well, it has been bouncing around inside of my head even since the trasmission popped the first time. Now, it seems as though the tranny that I bought for $2,150 (After tax&core) is faulty.

It keeps popping out of 4th gear, and the shifter really jumps when you apply/remove the accelerator. Odds are this damn thing is broke too.

It is warrantied, but damn, it is going to cost me another $350 to have it pulled/replaced, and them the time & money that it takes to drive back to Sac to get a new one.

do you think that I should go after Rancho Cordova Subaru/Kia/Suzuki Recylcer for labor costs? I know that it was a used part, but it was sold with a 6 month, unlimited mileage warranty in writting. Plus, it was bad from the get go.

I am super bummed about this. I think that I am going to get a true econo-box and lay off the modding for awhile!

I don't really trust this Subaru Of America company. It seems as though they are shady!

I am very sad, and bummed, and every other emotion that you could throw at a man.

What are your inputs?

Andy

Get your transmission fixed, you'll be happy again. Think of all the money that you will be out if you sell the car and you'll probably still end up fixing the tranny in order to sell it.

I am actually looking at buying an imported Evolution7. I called the company, and they are about 2-3 weeks away from having them street legal LHD from Europe! They have been sitting in L.A. for about a month now.

BNR32 also comes to mind, but MotoRex is raping people on those. That is, by far, my favorite car ever produced.

G35 coupe isTITSand is rumored to be the R35 shell!

Also looking into the Z33...the blue one! As soon as you put rims and coilovers, it is transformed into a thing of beauty!

I definintely feel the desire to get a non-US car to tool around in here (hmmmm.... street-legal lotus elise!!), but if you're already troubled by the problems you're having with parts and costs for a readily available vehicle, imagine what it'll be like when you have to do your own import for the crap thet'll undoubtedly break!!

Look, seriously... If you're bothered by the fact that your consumer-grade tranny keeps blowing out on your tuned car, why don't you just build a new one with a set of gears that can harness the power? Do it right once, and forget about it

(and if you get that Evo VII, I wanna go for a ride! )

Why would it cost you a cent...if it's covered under warranty???
I had a Ford SVT Contour, and I broke the tranny 5 times. Each time it was replaced.... it was FREE...WARRANTY!!!

Now I have a sweet WRX...cross my fingers about this tranny. I'll just keep adding power.

hey bad....

i too have been contimplating the evo thing. i am personaly waiting to see the evo viii. no one really knows what it is going to e like, and 36k is alot of dough NOT knowing if the evo viii is going to better or watered down. i have time, so it i can wait. but i feel your pain man. it is hard to have such a modable car, but not be able to mod it due to one weak link. or even the FEAR of that link.

i personally think it is the extra girth coupled with the extra stiff chassis. the old design has finally met its match, and it is time for a new design. even if it is a 5sp.

anyway, i have seen your posts on lancerforums. it is tempting, but that is a whole lot of $$ for a car you have to wait minimum 3-7 days for parts.

good luck,

josh
