While I know that is only a video game, but it sure shows how things have changed if a high production base model car can do over 200 MPH.

Seriously! I have a book of 'Supercars' and their criteria was hitting the 200mph club. The Z06 had made it in and now the base C7 will.
![]() I don't know what the new pricing will be like, but you can get into a brand new C6 for under $50k and they have a top speed of 190mph. I wouldn't want anything less than a full weld in cage if I was pushing it on the track. Corvettes never really did it for me, but what a performance bargain! |

Sounds like every other Chevy I can remember hearing. Not horrible, but they could take some lessons from Ford on how to make muffler music. Maybe it's a firing order issue  (I know the LS1 was practically a Ford design, but I don't think they adopted 13726548 did they?)

I love Vettes and all, but that is HIDEOUS! Tacky, ugly, and tasteless. WTF? The C6 (especially wide body models) were beautiful!

THe sound a car makes at idle is not really a fair comparison to how it really sounds while driving.
and M5 and M3 sound like old tractors with an exhaust leak at idle, but once they are at song, they sound glorious. |

Saw it in person at Detroit. The more I see it, the more I just see the current Corvette with a front grill and some scoops. The only "new" part is the rear, which is hit/miss. I haven't really decided on how I feel about it.

The bigger changes are the interior and driveline. Everyone has their own opinion on the interior styling. The driveline changes are quite fantastic. New engine with more base power. New transmission with an extra gear which can do a lot for acceleration and/or top speed as well as fuel economy. The rear diff has an eLSD which can do a lot of magical things for performance and putting power to the ground. Overall it is a pretty big step forward from the previous generation. |

I'm not sure about the rear end. As a Corvette fan, the rear end doesn't seem to have the Corvette-ness feel. I'm sure it will grow on me once I see it in person. For some reason, when I see the rear end with the new logo, I think Pontiac Firebird. The front and side looks sharp.
