The other interesting option is a used 2006-2008 C6Z06 that you can get for high $30k to low $40k range with <$20k miles. That is a lot of bang for your buck.

I agree. As more guys sell their C6's, the price will probably drop further. A C6Z06 for $30k is a bargain. I have even seen ZR1's go for as low as low $70k. Not that I would ever need a ZR1.

This thread is hilarious, I wish there was more Corvette bashing from people that have never driven a corvette before, or been in a Corvette before, and probably never will.
Having personally driven a C6-Z06, and having been around a track back to back in a C6-Z06 & 911-GT3; I didn't give a wet slap from a whales Va-Gin about the interior materials GM used, the HUD is nice when driving hard because instead of glancing down at the dash to check RPM's you can continue to look out the windshield and check RPM's (and many other things). I didn't care what magic GM used to make the suspension work, it worked; I didn't care that some body panels are made of plastic instead of the exotic material of the week because they keep the MSRP down and function as body panels and are plenty light weight. I didn't care that the engine was OHV instead of OHC because it worked really really well. As for this next model, I don't really care for the looks RIGHT NOW but a lot of people didn't like when the vette lost its pop-up headlights. |

A Corvette is hardly an uncommon car. It's not like driving one is some special privilege. |

Not saying it is a special privilege, just saying most of the Keyboard Cowboys on the internet have not driven one, and most likely have not been inside of one. However they will continuously complain about the interior quality or parrot whatever else they hear on Top Gear or read in C&D without actually checking it out for themselves.

The only one that I could get over was the Z06 with a Lingenfelter race engine (video below) from the video, you can see why I didn't care about the interior. ![]() |

I have been following a few Corvette forums, and you can get a base C6 for around $15k off MSRP now. Even some Z06 are getting up to $20k off MSRP.
I can't imagine how much dealers are going to have to knock off once the C7's start hitting the lot. |

The taillights honestly don't bother me much. If I were in the potential market for buying a Corvette, which I'm not, I would be way more interested in a carbon-fiber look diffuser instead. That's my only real criticism of the car, that big piece being painted black is a travesty for all the non-black-colored Vettes.

Those lights are hideous and make the back end look ten years old. Plus what are they planning on doing with the vents that exit there?

$2800 for FIBERGLASS rear end? Does that even include paint? Holy crap. It looks better, but I'm not sure it looks $2800 better

I think it's acceptable use to put an 's' on the end of an abbreviation in this case despite the word that is becoming plural not being the last word.
Check out the SUS example at grammer-monster. Also, check out the first example of plural forms at wikipedia. |

It would seem that those are talking about adding an S to an abbriviation of a singular thing for the most part. An RPM is more of a unit of measure like lb or in, you use the lb whether it is 1 lb or 20 lb.
