The front I can live with, but there's no way that rear end is legitimate. It looks horrible.

It's styling is a mixture of Viper, GTR, and Camaro. Yuck.

Looks like two different design committees were in charge of the styling for the front (Viper guys doing a side job for extra cash) and rear ends (Camaro-owning GTR fanbois), respectively. And did they have to give it an even fatter looking rump? I'm sure the mish-mash look will continue into the interior.
No more bailout this time!

What I love about people complaining that the rear end is ugly- they would probably say it was awesome if the camaro and other chevies didn't have it first.

I personally think it looks great. I wish I had the coin to afford even a base one purely based on how it looks. Maybe in like 5 years I can buy a used one for cheap.

Nope. Square cars always look ugly to me (except the e36, which isnt really even all that square). The fact is:

In what world do those two things look like they correlate at all? Personal tastes aside, I'm not sure you can argue smooth and rounded looks the same as jagged and flat.

There are plenty of cars with square rear ends that I love, this is not one of them. I looks like a retarded Darth Vader.

Ok, I'm going to assume here a few things:

1. When you're talking about square/flat you are talking about the rear while smooth/rounded is the front.

2. That you either at least like or are ok with the C6 and other Vettes known for looking good(such as the sting ray).

So let's look at the car in question: C7 Vette:

Now let's compare that "squareness" to the C6 rear:

Hmmm well what ya know- it's just as flat and square. That's funny, well how about the front?

WHOA, what happen here it's not flat and square, it's actually smooth and rounded. How could this happen? Must be a fluke right?

God damn, don't tell me Vettes have been doing this rounded front and square rear **** since the 60's, your head might actually explode!

So there you go- you are just a hater. Unless you find the C6 and old sting rays ugly as well, well you're still a hater what can I say?

You can have your opinion on what ya like and don't like. Really, that's fine, it's great actually. Just don't be a hypocrite about it spouting garbage like 2 different design teams for front and rear. Really? You guys that dense? I also love the viper reference when in all honesty it looks more like the viper took ques from the stingray in the first place so it's no surprise that when Chevy wanted to take ques from the stingray(which are very obvious) that the viper would look similar.

I also don't see where GTR is coming from at all. I see NOTHING from the GTR that has any reference to the C7. Lights(front and rear), nope. Side molding, nope. Front bumper, nope. Rear bumper, nope. Well what the **** on the GTR is even close to being the same on the C7? Hell at least with the C6 you can obviously say the rear lights are the same(though vettes had those for decades before nissan was even a nissan).

There's a difference between a hard edge with rounded body panels, lights, etc which still shares nice style queues with the front and then having a drastically different design language from front to back, namely in the form of square tails and completely flat back end when the front is very nicely done (minus the trend towards awkwardly placed LED's with fenders seemingly floating around them as a shield).

As for that stingray (my favorite vette), notice the nose has about the same square area that the rear does. I'd say that's a perfect balance of transition.

eTos, are you blind? I ask this as I do not intend to offend you when I say you are blind.

All the Vette's you posted have soft lines in the rear. The new Vette has a pretty face with a hard, puckered rear. In short, it looks like a hot chick holding in a fart......

Now this I can respect cause it's your stated opinion on how and why. I kinda disagree on the rear C7 being as flat as the C6(lots of concaves everywhere, the only place that's flatter is rear wheel arch area) so in a way the rear does match the front well from the photo. Ultimately though all of this is utter BS cause we don't even have any good solid pics let alone seen the car in person. Many cars look stupid in photos, seen in person can change everything.

Seriously? I can see where you are going with the C6 having a "soft" edge, but even the stringray? No one even knew what a soft edge was in the 60's. Regardless, the panels in the rear of the C6 is a perpendicular no matter how "soft" the edges are. And how do you even know the C7 has "hard" edges from 1 ****ty photo? You are the blind one.

Okay that black C3 pictured above is just not right with those huge 20" rims.

large rims on classic cars just does not look right...the pro-touring thing has got out of hand.

That's not pro-touring, that's what happens when overweight 50 something white guys try to be "edgy" and "in touch with the youth"

Other than the super chunky and high rear, I think it's an absolute slam dunk!
