Default Nitto Motivo Sampling Review

I have had the privilege of being part of the Nitto Motivo Sampling group. I recently purchased Falken Azenis PT722 245/40/18 which are also UHP all-season tires. Since I put on the Nitto Motivo's after only about 4k miles on the Falken PT722, I believe I had a pretty good comparison of the two. They both seem to perform similarly in dry weather. The PT722 I broke lose on an off ramp in the rain going about 45 mph (Could of been a little quicker but guessing it was around 45). It was a controlled slide which was easily recovered. I haven't pushed the Nitto Motivo in the rain yet so I can not attest to the abilities in the rain. The road noise is much better with the Motivo (Which I had to compare with all electronics off as the Invidia N1 usually is enough to mask the road noise). But it is much quieter than the PT722. The Motivo also feels a little bit more soft in the ride. A more comfortable ride quality.

Will update thread when more miles are put on the tires.
Kenny

What's better than free tires? Free anything I guess.

So after 3500 miles, I've got the general feel of these tires. I've never been able to push my Falken Azenis pt722 as hard as I have pushed the Motivo's, wet or dry. In the wet, they're really similar to the falken's. Its possible to get a controlled slides. I take off ramps at about 40-50 in the wet and have a small slide that is easily recovered. Even dry wise they are really similar. Although the falken's have similar dry performance too, the falkens feel as if they have stiffer sidewalls. I absolutely love these tires though.

The only problem I have had with the motivo is at 500 miles. I had a allen wrench get stuck in the tires in two spots. That was mind boggling to me. I have not had a nail or anything in my tire since 2008. I thought that maybe the tires are really prone to getting nails but possibly it was just bad luck. Noise is great and handling is amazing. I'm waiting to see how these are in the snow. I am going to measure tread depth to see the wear at 3500 miles. I rode these tires really hard. Taking turns faster than when I had a falken azenis rt615. Maybe because I became more comfortable with the handling of the car. These tires are great.

Update3:

So, I pretty much have driven these tires through every weather condition I can expect to drive through. Yesterday we had winter storm Nemo and I was out driving when there was about 4-6 inches out. Driving in the snow made me wish for my winter tires. Sure AWD helps get you moving in the snow, but AWD does nothing for stopping. Had a near miss last night. Other than snow performance, the tires are solid. I can drive on them pretty aggressively. As far as I can tell the tires and wheels are still fairly well balanced. Traction in the dry is great and the wet is average to good.
