They might not be that common outside NASIOC but they are pretty common here.

A Vin# prob would be a good place to start too

It actually runs fine.... Whole reason I bought it. It will not be put back together. Good compression and everything. Just had alot of aftermarket parts and was curious if anything was built engine wise

i do not see how that could possibly run fine with that kind of damage to the engine area. but if it does that was an awesome buy!

The damage is very similar to my previous car. His damage is a little heavier on the front passenger side but needless to say my engine/drivetrain was salvageable too. Blew me away when I found out it was all good but at the end of the day if the drive belt doesn't come off, almost anything that didn't physically get hit is salvageable.

how close to the bid price do some of these end at? theres some sti's on the that just in brakes/trans/engine alone youd make a killing on parting out.

there is no real answer.

From what I've seen, most of them end up in the 7500-8000 +/- range. Thats about "break even" for most of the parts, especially considering there can be a bunch of damaged parts that need to be replaced.
