Default Any final word/new info on ej22->ej25 sohc swaps?

There is loads of good info out there about successful swaps done. But they are all quite different it seems, or have conflicting information.

Just wanted to check and see if anyone has any grey matter they can share.

From what I remember, in my particular case (97 AT Brighton 2.2L), I should be able to drop a phase 2 ej25 in, and run it off of my current harness and ECU no? There are very minor tweaks, but they seem to be well documented or at least hinted at elsewhere.

If I was to do a AT to MT conversion as well, I would need a 2.5 tranny and the 2.5 rear diff as well? Would the require using the ECU from the 2.5 instead?

And finally, I read somewhere that you can be all gravy inspections wise as long as both cars were OBDII, correct?

If this just ends up taking up space I'll take it down, thanks for any input you may have! It will be much appreciated

I think this has been covered on here, but check RS25.com...I guarantee there are threads there with ALL the information you could possibly want.

You're right, there is loads of great info there, but it is so far scattered it's tough to make heads or tails of it right off the bat. Thanks for the tip though!

I'm doing the exact opposite of this swap. Phase II EJ22 going into 99 Fozzy with a Phase II EJ25.

From what I've gathered, you swap both intake (to keep it SD or MAF respectively) and exhaust manifolds and then the rest is plug n' play.
