Post very easy question. Please help!

I'm upgrading rear speakers in my 93 impreza hatchback. I opened it up and took the factory speakers which are attached to a black plastic piece. How do I tighten the new speakers (6 1/2) in there? Do I have to use the black plastic things? if so, how do I get the old speakers out of them? I know this is probably stupid to most of you, but it would help me out a lot. Thanks a lot.

Yeah, that's about right.

Lucky you, you get the black plastic adaptor that all the WRX owners are wishing they had. Just unscrew the factory speaker from the plastic and screw the new speaker in -- should be a 4-hole mount. You might want to put a bit of rubber foam to prevent vibration, and make sure to use Loctite on the screws.

BTW, if you happen to see a part number on that ring please post it to the board.
