A featherweight upgrade for today!

What will it be?

Fiberglass doors!

The body is finally complete now and is able to get painted.

Some adjustments...

As if its OEM!

You might be wanting to know how much OEM door weights?

This is however a "complete" door, with window and mechanics in it still fitted. My new doors will get Lexan windows however, so I hope to compensate the extra weight of the rollcage in the end anyways.

Finally we've put the baby 3cm lower to the ground.

Thats it! There might be a minor update on Saturday, but this will be the day when the body will get transported to the paintshop... FINALLY! Then you'll have to wait until further updates...

Yesterday it finally has come so far: off to the paint shop!

I borrowed a set of "matte black rims" from my "ex girlfriend"

The difference!

YOOO!

And off she goes...

Hard to think that we've picked her up like this exactly a month ago:

I would like to thank JT and everyone else who has made this possible.

End of chapter...

Just returned from my holiday in my hometown Moscow, bought some stuff there:

And the project made some progress without me too:

The "old one" is being dismantled:

A Dutch JDM community blog has written an article about my build, check it out: http://www.wanganwarriors.com/blog/i...ttack-missile/

Guess what? She's back!

Although it was quite hard to recognize her...

Well, the 330 brakes look microscopic now thanks to the colossal wheels... I think I should mount 356 in the future..

With the Spec C front train the wheels are standing ever further outside...

Cya next time!

P.S. Before you start commenting on the "blue" inside the wheel arches: we are going to paint them black, thats why they're left unpainted

I think I owe you some hi-res pics

Thanks!

Some updates:

Rear brakes are assembled, we had to put 356 on there because we had serious fitment issues of the 330 on 2005 sti axles.

It does create a retarded look, since the front is still 330, but we're going to solve this issue soon.

And the rear train is assembled. I want to install tubular subframes in the future together with uniballs trailing arms.

The braking system is also installed and connected, the front and rear are two separate circuits, so if one may fail/leak, I will always have another one.

Not really an update but...

We went for some trackfun last Friday and to test our new S14a. One of our team mates just bought it from previous owner, so don't judge the driver on his performance, its was his first time driving it ever (on drift tires)

Dont hate me too much, its my first vid ever with automotive scene in it, let alone track day... and yes, I can use another cam, but currently all the money is flowing to my build

Hi guys,

some special update again. Been away for a while and in the meanwhile the following change in my life occured:

Probably offtopic, but it has something to do with the project though. As you might have read, for the past three months the car has been away to EMS who is responsible for engine build and placement with everything that has to do with it. Unfortunately, the progress was unsatisfyingespecially regarding my decision to go for exchange: it could happen that I will be unable to drive my own car anymore, thats why we decided to bring it back to JT and work on it with our whole team to get it running within 4 weeks at most.

The state she got back:

We had this event unscheduled, so there is little we could have done so far, since we also had a major automotive event "Fast Car Festival" this Sunday.
Anyways, things we've done so far:

Removement of dB-killer

The wing back on:

Detailing:

And this is how the car was present during Fast Car Festival:

Also, I would like to congratulate Twan, the driver of JT Carbon Evo 8 who finished second yesterday!

Expect the revivification of this topic once again. Things we have to do: wiring, piping, fittings, hoses, and all the other small things that cost lots of time

Todays' update: piping.

Welding:

rolling a clamping edge:

Mounting!

And finally a question,

today I dismantled my dynamo for a refreshment, but unfortunately I cannot put them together anymore because there are "two thingies" that I have to push away before I can stick another part's axle inside. Question: how. Thanks in advance!

The problem with brushes is solved by using some adhesive tape

Here are some updates on the project.

First of all, this:

A nice, detailed piece of art, but most important: its ceramic.

... which my headers till downpipe also soon will become.

Furthermore, a nice porntastic upgrade I've ordered today:

TSSFAB full package!

This is something I've wanted for a long time, but didn't purchase because I had a long way to go with my build and it wasn't smart to spill the budget on the unnecessary things. However, recently I realized that this is everything except for unnecessary regarding my current geometry specs.

Finally, this makes me realize that there is almost nothing OEM left, except for the gearbox internals, drive shaft, differentials, drive axles, oil sump and aero. Things got quite out of hand in a short amount of time, however, all those upgrades are useless if the car is still not running, which we're going to change soon, starting again with tomorrow!

Dismantled headers, downpipe, and turbo to coat these with a ceramic layer:

And a more beautiful and functional update, installed the fuel lines:

Another update,

Intake headlight received, it will obviously get painted in the future.

& OBX Trailing Arms:

Vs. OEM:

Mounted:

Quite sad that I will have to sell these in +- month as soon as my TSSFAB subframes will get here. Oh by the way, we've decided to move the engine backwards with those frames which will require a custom drive shaft which will be manufactured in carbon fiber...

Too bad there will be so much porn underneath the car and so little people can see it once its mounted.

We will also try to replace the diffs once we're busy with the underside.
