If Edgar gets finished, this is the best night of UFC ever for me.

Fitch got Fitched.

Overeem got Overeemed.

If Aldo Finishes Edgar then Edgar will have been Aldo'd... hell, Bendo "Edgar'd" Edgar in their last fight.

The third round was the one that decided it. 1 and 2 Aldo. 4 and 5 Edgar. I'll have to check out the fight again. Can't argue with the decision though.

I really hope Edgar doesn't get a second shot. Chances are that he will, though... meh.

+1 for suck judging. Aldo won but 48-47.

Ugh. Dat judging. 49-46 is ******* outrageous, i'm sorry. Edgar looked great in the last two rounds, and round 3 was a toss up in my opinion.

Overeem is a moron. I saw that smirk on his face and immediately knew it would get him in trouble. You can't act that cocky in any weight class let alone heavy weight.

The brazilians took it to us last night. That was the best Maia I think i've ever seen.

I didn't watch the fight but if it was close like they always say... You gotta TAKE it from the champion. If a round was a toss up or very close, most judges will give it to the champ. Period. I'm not surprised the judging was lopsided.

I thought that too. If thats the case then hendo robbed frankie. I mean don't get me wrong, overall I did think aldo deserved to win that fight last night. The same way I still think edgar should still be the LW champion. Edgar I think did enough to at least hold on to the belt in their first fight. He didn't get "beat". He was still there at the final bell throwing down. And even if he did lose the belt in their first bout.. I really do believe he bested hendo in their second fight.

Regardless, you can't really argue against all that has happened. It's not going to change anything. The bottom line is.. Do not leave the fight in the hands of the judges.

For the umpteenth time, Frankie got dominated in his first fight with Henderson. If the fights had been in reverse order, then yes, I agree because he did much better the second time and I actually thought he may have won. The first fight wasn't even remotely close, though.

I totally agree, he lost that first fight. If the fight wasn't for the belt, then there would be no talk of 'beating' the champ. The up kick in my opinion was the sealer for Hendo in that fight. I thought rest of the fight after that kick was competitive. He came back and fought hard as hell and was pushing the pace towards the later rounds from what I recall. To say it wasn't even remotely close is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. If Hendo got the belt from his performance in the first fight, Edgar's performance in the second fight was worthy of taking it back. I suppose I need to watch the first fight again.. I really try not to be biased as I know i'm a big Edgar fan, but certainly no nut hugger. If someone loses i'm not going to sit here and make excuses for them. If you want the win, then don't let it fall into the judges hands. Simple as that. Some of the scoring that goes on in the UFC (in general) really rustles my jimmies though.

It is what it is. I just hope Edgar moves forward with a positive mindset after this last one. I still enjoy his fights win or lose.

<3 Cro Cop

http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news...nd-prohibited/

Quote:
The Croatian MMA portal FightSite.hr interviewed Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic about Alistair Overeem's loss to Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva on Saturday night at UFC 156.

"I wasn't surprised by Silva's victory at all and I had believed he would win," said Cro Cop. "I don't want to come off as a smart-ass or say I knew it all along, so I'll explain why I'd believed so. First, Silva is a big tough guy with a huge heart who had demolished Fedor and he needs no better reference than that, and Alistair hugely underestimated him and belittled him with his arrogant statements, so this mobilized Silva in the best possible way. Second, Silva is a natural heavyweight, and Alistair - for the first time since way back in 2007, when he began to gain huge weight – fought without the drugs he had used constantly for years, including testosterone and all the other s--- that goes with it.

"Watching the weigh-in, I saw that his muscles mass was nowhere near his usual, he had the weight, but he wasn't nearly as carved out and defined, since he couldn't take anything because he was watched by the Athletic Commission. This also reflects on the psyche of a man who's been using stuff to increase his strength, endurance, pain tolerance and aggressiveness for years, and now there was none of that. Alistair is an excellent fighter, but he still owes that excellence to something that's dirty and unpermitted, and, in the end, very dangerous to health.

"I don’t think he was concerned by that, he wanted success at any cost. And the third thing is, Alistair had behaved so arrogantly that someone needed to put him back in his place. His belittling of Silva was repulsive, saying that after beating up Silva he'd go for the belt, and at the weigh-in and entering the arena he acted like he invented the fighting sport, and he's been behaving with so much arrogance lately that I'm glad Silva put him back in his place and taught him a lesson!

"Congratulations Silva, from the heart!"
