Default Tires for rpf1 and auto cross

Just purchased a set of rpf1 for a 2010 wrx hatch. Wheel size is 18x9.5 +38. Im looking for suggestions for tire size. I was thinking 245 35 18. I have tein adjustables. Looking for any pics of similar set up and or suggestions on what size to get. I autocross once a month all year round so I also was looking for suggestions on tire brands, maybe ventus rs3 or dunlop drizzle. Any help is appreciated.

The RS3's, Star Specs or AD08's are all excellent street tires for autocross use. From experience, the Star Specs are very noisy on the street compared to the AD08's I'm using now. Something to consider for the moderate autox'er.

What he said^

I have heard nothing but great things about the AD08s. My favorite tire I have owned so far were Potenza Re-11s. Great grip Dry and wet. Very predictable at the limit. I had hankook rs-2s and thought they were great for the prize. And there is always Azenis which should be ok for autocross, they tend to get gressy when they get hot.

have you fit those wheels yet?

have fun trying to squeeze even that much tire on the narrow body with that wheel.

for autocross, i would've bought something far smaller....

Go big or go home. Hoosier A6 275/35/18. Once you go purple crack, you don't go back.

I am nervous bout the fitment, but it looks like a lot of people run that size and a 245 is stretched but not to bad.

Make sure you are looking at narrowbody wrx's... You have ALOT less room than both the GD and GR chassis.

They stick out a little, its a 255/35/18. Already autox once and another coming up next week. AMAZING! handle like its on rails with no rubbing or fender rolling.
