HI, I bought a 01 2.5 rs with a blown engine "ran out of oil, destroyed rod bearings" My Sohc heads have a recent rebuild on them and are dirty but otherwise in good shape. My question is, What engine block should I be searching for to replace this one with. ? Like what year block will mate up with these heads? I saw an 06 2.5i for cheap I was going to snag. Would I have any problems bolting my heads to this block for instance ?

Should be able to bolt it up without issue. Both are the EJ25 whether it be 251, 253, shouldn't make a difference., Both are NA

It would work, but you'd be missing out on the AVLS goodness.
